'Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2019

Today I am proud to introduce my Transistor-82:
a low tech analog percussion synthesizer Eurorack module.
It's been in the works over a year.
Circuit testing has been well...quite addictive!
First I explain the concept of Transistor-82 and how it came about.
Then take a quick tour of the front panel features/controls.
And close out with some audio demos.

Transistor-82 Lo-Fi Analog Percussion Synthesizer Test (in progress)

Published on Feb 19, 2019 gstormelectro

"Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2019

You may remember my discontinued Transistor-80,
it was a retro analog percussion Eurorack module.
Simple, quirky, fun. But it just begged for more.
I've been working on an advanced version, today I am giving a sneak preview.
I'm calling it the Transistor-82.
It's been a long time coming, testing sessions have been well...
...quite addictive!

The Transistor-82 will have all different circuitry compared to the predecessor.
But retains that special early 80s Lo-Fi Synsonics / Cynare / Drumfire vibe.
Along with many proper drum synthesis controls.
And welcome additions including CV input control over many parameters.
More will be announced soon as progress and design concludes.

WARNING - loud analog percussion chirps bleeps chaos, watch your levels!
Trigger shots coming from Varigate4.
CV modulations from S/H and Batumi LFOs.
Audio recorded direct to Tascam DR-05, no effects. None.

Check out my Eurorack modules currently available in my Reverb store.

Moby's Drum Machines For Sale

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

You can find them on Reverb here.

Don't miss the video here.

Update: some pics and details captured. I made the mistake of trying to capture them all and then realized how many were listed. :) I ended up switching to the more esoteric models. Quite a few have never been featured here on MATRIXSYNTH before. What's a little bit interesting, is only two new labels were needed, one for Domino and one for Side-Kick-Er. All other brands have been featured before. See the labels at the bottom of this post. Side note: Blogger limits the number of characters to 200 for labels, so I wasn't able to capture them all for this post. You can always search for the brand names featured for more. I assume most do this anyway. The labels are more for maintenance and for finding posts that may not feature brand names in descriptions.

Final Set of A-Z of Analogue Synthesisers

The listing is from the author Peter Forrest who states this is likely the last set.  These are great books and imo the most comprehensive.  Click on the pics to get an idea of what they are like.  Peter also has other items listed including The Museum of Synthesizer Technology and Synthesizer von Gestern II.

Vermona ER-9 first test

YouTube via MusicMiK | August 28, 2010

"I recently got this ER-9 from an internet auction as broken - a resistor and a capacitor were fried according to the seller.

The schematics don't include the power supply, so if anyone also worked on this unit, could you please tell me the value of the resistor between the +12V and the +5V outputs? 82 Ohms seem to be a bit small, as the power transistor and resistor produce a lot of heat, 100 Ohms seem to be a bit too large as the 5V drops with this...

Besides the power supply, all D126D (7426) had some broken outputs each, so i replaced all of them. 2 Trimpots had some mechanical damage, besides this, the electronics were okay, just the electromechanical parts (start switch, volume knob, lamps) need some more work.

This machine has an interesting sound, i especially like the snare drum. There are lots of trimpots in the unit to tweak the sound and i don't have the adjustment documentation yet, so what you hear doesn't necessarily reflect the original sound of this machine, it's just what i adjusted."
