The snow came and stranded me at home so I had a jam with my MD.

Got Genome synced up playing some synths and Samplr playing some loops I made earlier.

Sorry for the screen reflections, I wanted to see the snow, lol!!!! I'll try and sort a better cam angle for future videos but space is tight....

"Hi, I had an Elektron MachineDrum for Xmas so I had a quick jam on Boxing day with it hooked up to my DSI Mopho & the wonderful Samplr app for the iPad. Samplr has no midi options yet (please add midi-sync!!!) so I tried to sync it manually. Even though I matched the tempo (115bpm) on the devices, one of them (I suspect the ipad!!) drifts worse than a knackered old belt-drive turntable, so apologies for sections of questionable 'looseness'... (you might want to skip a couple of minutes in as I get better!! lol) - it's also a bit repetitive because of having to spend so much time with the sync but I had only had the setup for one day, so hopefully future vids will improve :)

"Just a little jam with Samplr on iPad, My OP-1 and Volca Bass.
Samplr isn't synced with midi - only found out as I was uploading this video that the new Samplr has mini input sync! that's amazing!

I keep coming back to SAMPLR, it's probably one of the most inspiring music apps out there you can twist and mangle samples to create the most wonderful sounds. In this video I'm using a root sample of a synth (dont ask me what its from a bunch of randomly named files) which I've up-pitched to sound like strings."

"Samplr is a unique app. It is safe to say there's nothing out there that does what it does in terms of sample manipulation. Because of this I decided to give Samplr some extra attention to get electronic musicians to get on board.

Of course there is vested interest involved. The app hasn't been updated in a while and I'd like the developer to keep maintaining it so we can enjoy this amazing app further down the line. So there's hope that the more people get the app the more likely it is to get developed further. Thanks"

"In this video I do a quick walkthrough and demo of Samplr. After 3 different people today were wondering about it and if i had done any videos I decided to do this one. I ended up making more noise then anything in this video but let it be known that you can make some beautiful sounds with it too. All in all this video should give you a good idea of all the different functions of Samplr. I didn't get a chance to show you any of the recording features in this video but they are really cool as well. I hope you find this helpful!

"This track was performed and produced exclusively with the iPad, QuNexus and apps including AudioBus, Samplr, Sunrizer, and Propellerheads Figure (not shown in the video). The process started in Figure where I created a drum pattern, bass line, and synth melody. I then used Sonoma AudioCopy/Paste to get the parts into Samplr on separate tracks. Next I recorded an arpeggio from Sunrizer into Samplr that I used in two of the slots, but setup quite differently from each other. Finally I recorded a bit of vocal straight in via the internal mic to use as a effect. During the performance I used the touchscreen to manipulate the layers and adjust the processing in Samplr, then I used the QuNexus connected via the iPad Camera Kit to play a mono synth patch in Sunrizer. "A really chilled jam with Teenage Engineering OP-1 and SAMPLR for iPad. I'm really falling in love with SAMPLR again - it's a simple concept yet awesome app that allows for so much creativity.
It now has MIDI SYNC which I've hooked up here so that when I press play on the OP-1 then Samplr starts too.

I just WISH That they would implement Midi In so that samples can be played with a full sized keyboard instead of having to move up and down octaves manually within the app."

Used: ipad mini 1, samplr, audiobus and audioshare to record, sony xperia z3c (head cam), sony xperia m4 (side cam), reaper (on pc for main video sequencing, audio master limiter and a some delay at the end), after effects for the overall look and of course the Stephen Hawking voice generator.
