Harvestman featured in PC World

"600 Bucks: So Much Money, So Little Time
We ask PC World staffers how they might spend their $600 economic stimulus payment.

Harvestman Modular Synthesizer
Peter Tripodi, Facilities Coordinator: Assuming I can get it together to find all my paperwork (I'm a tax "extentialist"), I'll probably spend the payment on a few modules for my ever growing modular synthesizer. Maybe a bitcrusher to offset its mostly analog composition. There's a voltage controlled 8-bit delay/looper by Harvestman that I've had my eyes on. Lo-fi? Sub-fi, baby!! Or I could get a Flame Midi-Talking-Synth; having dual Speakjets is like having two Stephen Hawkings doing bird calls and barnyard impressions at the twist of a joystick. That's what I call economically stimulating."

"I have one and I use it all the time it as a kind of musical "leatherman" for testing MIDI related devices, or ideas .......I've also taken it with me on Craigslist purchases so I can check stuff out before I hand out the cash....although I haven't bought much in the last year....just a T-resonator ...I don't really use it for music making much, but sometimes when I travel I throw it in the suitcase as a sound module for the laptop. .....the canned sequences, tacky as they are, are also good for for trying out chord sequences because you can chain chords together within the sequencer and get an idea what it might sound like with better equipment, more space and more time. it has 16 channels so when I need a GM MIDI sound source it is a whole lot better than the built in one from microsoft woindows.. it does eat batteries however, so I carry a power adapter when I can. The LCD is barely readable in certain light conditions too"

HELLFIRE MODULATOR TS-21

Inside a TS-21

"As you can see in the photo, this is the third unit produced. This unit is completely hand wired from point-to-point, and in EXCELLENT condition. This unit has an extra knob in the rear which is not mentioned in the owners manual, leading me to believe that this could possibly be an early prototype. The rear knob has an affect on the frequency of an oscillator, separate than the ones the L1 and L2 knobs control.

Metasonix has put its knowledge of tube circuitry to good use in the design of the TS-21. The unit is made up of three stages, each with its own tube: a preamp with a VCA, a pulse-width modulator (PWM), and an LFO-controlled waveshaper. Vacuum tubes are also used for the LFO and for powering additional circuits, giving you a total of five tubes in the device. Despite the tube count, however, the TS-21 has very low self-noise and gets only slightly warm to the touch.

Midify Feature Demo

YouTube via Modd3d. via Nusonica. More info on Modd3d.
"Midify is a tiny board that lets you add a MIDI port to just about anything.

This is a demo of some of the features Midify offers. I've hooked LEDs up to all the outputs so it's easier to see what is happening.

The outputs are also connected to a Game Boy SP running PixelH8's Music Tech synth cartridge.

Features demoed:
-Easy to configure right from your keyboard or sequencer
-Poly Mode (play lots of notes at once)
-Mono Mode (play only one note at a time)
-High Note Priority Mode (the highest key you play wins in mono mode)
-Low Note Priority Mode (the lowest key you play wins in mono mode)
-Pause Mode (inserts a pause between each note you play so some devices that don't react quickly don't get confused)

Midify launches on 6-10-08. Go to http://www.division-6.com for more information."
