Nintendo Entertainment System: Finding New Ways To Entertain

YouTube via gearwire
"Alex from GetLoFi.com shows us a modified Nintendo system that may not play games, but it does play some nostalgia inducing eight-bit noises. I'd like to see a Nintendo DJ use one of these explosions to rile up a crowd.

Check out this video to see what goes into such a transformation, and get an idea of what kind of planning is involved in Nintendo manipulation.

See more on Gearwire.com."

Arturia Origin Debut in Canada

YouTube via MusicmarketingCanada
"An interview with Frederic Brun the President of Arturia on their new hardware synthesizer "Origin".

Origin is the first Arturia Hardware synthesizer. It is a modular system of a new generation opening innovative avenues in sound design.
Loaded with modules extracted from the best synthesizers of all time (Moog Modular, ARP 2600, CS-80, minimoog and Prophet VS) Origin lets you combine these modules and benefit from the additional possibilities put onboard. The result: a new type of sound accessible through an extremely intuitive interface."

Waldorf Wave in Garage Band?

via the Waldorf list

"there is a Waldorf WAVE shown in the new GarageBand version for the Mac OS 10.5."

Update via Qwave in the comments:
"One might notice the missing disk drive. And the label above the mixer section (just left of the gray center section) is missing like on most WAVEs.

My 15 year old son found the WAVE in the GarageBand software on his Mac. And he told me about it. He knows the look of a WAVE, because he saw mine so many times.

There is also a Minimoog in the new GarageBand version. Another synth my son is able to name. Here is a snapshot done by my son showing the Minimoog:
