Eigenlabs Eigenharp: Hear It, Know It, Love It

YouTube via gearwire — April 15, 2010 — "Understanding the potential of something as sophisticated and multi-faceted as the Eigenlabs Eigenharp can be overwhelming at first blush. To really help us wrap our feeble brains around this unique instrument we enlisted the help of developer and Eigenlabs founder James Lambert.

Mr. Lambert talks a little about the surprisingly long history of this new-to-the-market instrument, and does an impressive job detailing all its most important functions and features in under eight minutes. You also get to see and hear the Eigenharp Alpha and Eigenharp Pico in action in this, the most efficient Gearwire tradeshow video ever created."

Korg Wavedrum: We Get All Handsy With It At AES

YouTube via gearwire — April 15, 2010 — "The reborn Korg Wavedrum got a lot of attention at AES, but we were still able to get a some close-up video of this retro-gem in action. Korg rep James Sajeva gave us the skinny on the differences between sampling and modeling (the Wavedrum specializes in the latter), as well as what the probable street price of the new model is going to be."

Polyphonic front end

YouTube via organfairy — April 15, 2010 —

"I am about to record a demo with my newly constructed mini modular analogue synthesizer. But I intend to blend in some chords too which the synthesizer should process.

To generate the chords I am going to use this little organ or polyphonic front-end that I made some years ago. The idea is the same as in the Paia Oz/Gnome duo: An organ-like instrument provides the chords and the actual synthesizer gives the chords their timbre and volume.

The music in this video is played on the Technics SX-C600 organ and the Roland SH-2000 synthesizer.

Sorry about the sketchy half-finished schematics in this video. When I made the mini organ I didn't know that I was going to present it in a video."

Squidfanny - Circuit Bent - Speak & Write

YouTube via squidfanny — April 15, 2010 — "Hello SONODROME............ :-)

Glitched out Speak & Write, for a 'mate-of-a-mate'.

Speak & Write sounds very similar to Speak & Math; ie loud, grainy mechanical man's voice."

Update:
