Tracking Gate Sequencer

YouTube via 4mspedals | October 19, 2010

"Alpha version of a Tracking Gate Sequencer from 4ms. One of 8 outputs goes high, in order from 1 to 8, each time a clock pulse is received. A reset jack lets you start over at 1. (so far it's just like the A-161, except with on-board clock and reset jacks).

The "Track" CV jack allows you to move between outputs using a CV value. So if you feed it a triangle wave, it will count up from jack 1 to 8 and then back from 8 counting down to 1. A falling sawtooth will count backwards. A square wave will bounce between two values... etc. The tracking feature only happens when the CV value on the jack *changes*. So if you hold a steady CV (or a sufficiently slow CV), you can still clock it. This is pretty useful for a "one step forward, two steps back" type sequence.

So far only one jumper is assigned, and it's Gate/Trigger mode. In the former each output will stay high until the next output goes high. In the latter, each output only goes high for as long as the input clock is high."

"Kort kort sommer" - on Roland SH-2000

YouTube via organfairy | October 19, 2010

"'Short, short summer' was written in 1979 where Denmark had had a summer dominated by heavy rain. It was performed by Torben Lendager and was a hit in 1980.

I took a little walk near one of the Danish fiords on one the last summer days this year and I think this melody fits the situation quite well - even though the summer this was OK.

The instruments used are Roland SH-2000 synthesizer, Yamaha HE-8 organ, Roland CR-1000 drum machine, and Kawai MS-20 keyboard. I recorded it back in 1999 using two Beocord 2000 tape recorders."
