SND ACME-4 Advanced Clock Management Engine

via SND

"the ultimate in musical clock generation & manipulation
- The only device in the world to generate a MIDI master clock that is absolutely jitter-free !!
- Derives a highly accurate clock from any audio workstation or computer
- Generates 4 separate clock streams
- Each clock stream has its individual MIDI output. 2 streams also generate 24-ppq signals (“Roland sync”), while the other 2 provide trigger and reset signals for analog sequencers and arpeggiators.
- Each clock stream can be time-shifted in relation to the master clock, in extremely small increments as well as in 16th-note steps.
- Each clock stream can be set to double or half tempo, and can be turned on and off without loosing synchronicity.
- A swing or shuffle factor can be set individually for each clock stream. The swing pattern can be the same for all 4 streams, or it can be a different one for each. A software editor for these patterns is included.
- Complete settings of all controls can be stored and recalled. All parameters can be remote controlled via MIDI. A setup mode allows to set precise absolute offsets for each clock, to compensate for technical reaction time differences of the various devices connected.
- Like all SND products, the ACME-4 has been designed with great attention to detail. The 32-bit risc-processor ensures lightning-fast reaction. High-grade components (gold-plated jacks, switches, and push-buttons, sealed Alps potentiometers etc.) and a rugged metal casing ensure decades of reliable operation.
- Size: 217 mm (width) x 160 mm (depth) x 68 mm (height), powered by USB or external supply

- Price: € 840,- + VAT & freight, 5 year warranty"

Hello World!

In case you missed me, here is why: http://status.blogger.com/

It looks like they are still restoring posts. I think I'm going to start up with new posts and let the gap restore itself in time. Also some of the labels seem off for me. Hopefully they will get sorted out.

I have a lot to post, so remember to click on Older Posts in the bottom of the page so you don't miss a thing. Always page through until you get to the last post you view.

Psychology Meets Synths - Rozzbox Creator Needs Your Help

Kilian Leonhardt, creator of the Rozzbox and Oddulator, wrote in asking if I could put a non related synth post up for him. He needs help for his thesis paper. I of course agreed as I'd like to help him out, and it actually is synth related from a historical perspective as it shares some of the interests behind one the makers of our synths.

"Currently, i'm writing my diploma thesis (after a whopping 10 years of not-so-hard studying psychology). For this, I need more than 200 participants from the United States aged between 18 und 40 years, that fill out my 15 minutes online-survey that is about mate-selection.

I'm searching for participants everywhere, but the response is incredibly small, and if I don't get my participants, my diploma is in danger - and my parents, having paid my studies, will probably kill me... ;)"

C.P.E. Bach: Solfeggietto (synthesized)

YouTube Uploaded by ScrollingMusic on May 12, 2011

"From WP:

Solfeggietto (H 220, Wq. 117: 2) is a short solo keyboard piece in C minor composed by C. P. E. Bach. Played at a tempo of Allegretto (Or Presto to Pretissimo, by some), it requires well-trained, dexterous fingers and much practice to be played well and at a consistent pace. The piece is not meant to be played at a fast, rushed pace, but more an even, quick pace. It contains changing C minor arpeggios and fast 16th notes. Some pianists use Solfeggietto to warm up their fingers for a performance.

This synthesized rendition was generated from a MIDI file by our Matlab synthesizer. For this piece, we used our "amvoice" instrument. Instead of generating a unique timbre through additive synthesis, like most of our instruments do, it generates sound through amplitude-modulation (AM) synthesis, multiplying fundamental sine waves instead of adding them. This allows a harmonic-rich tone to be created in a very efficient manner, with a run-time much faster than additive synthesis instruments of a comparable tone quality."
