"This is a one-off, hand-made prototype for the soon-to-be-released blackdeath synth sampler - the first open hardware/free software noise synthesiser with the plague inside.
Blackdeath embeds epidemic/plague simulations amongst other data generation algorithms for granular re-synthesis of incoming audio signals or self-generated switched feedback within a virulent yet highly controllable noise/audio engine.
Blackdeath samples 8bit audio and re-granulates, glitches according to data generation algorithms adjusted by six high quality potentiometers. The potentiometers control: sample write head, sample read head, minimum sample, maximum sample, choice and parameters of datagens, datagen step size and further parameters.
Blackdeath features two full-size jacks (1/4 inch for signal in and out), three switches (power, feedback, distortion), and a 9v battery holder (battery supplied). The housing is reinforced expanded foam..."

Just recently got myself a Novation Launchpad and thought I'd get Nonome and Polygomé up and running on it to see how it worked.
I've not experimented with the velocity or making my own patterns yet, just using one of the preset patterns with hold pattern switched on. The basic breakbeat in the background is from Vinylistics 3 and the sound sequenced by Polygomé I just quickly knocked up myself using U-He Ace and the filter cutoff is controlled by my Xiosynth."

"Sorry about the poor sound quality; this was filmed using a cheap digital camera. It's just a quick and easy demonstration of my Novation Nova in action. It's running version 4.1 of the operating system and, as you can probably see, is being sequenced by Ableton Live. No external processing is being used, it's simply the midi out going straight into the Nova and the main audio out of the Nova connected directly to my monitors.
All the sounds used in this (Kick, Snare, Hi-Hat and Bass) were programmed from scratch. I'm using the 18db low-pass filter on the bass (there are 12, 18 and 24db to choose from, amongst others), controlling both cutoff and resonance. I also make use of the comb filter on the bass, which can be found in the menu of the distortion effect, for some reason.
The only other thing that gets messed around with is the delay on the snare. All pretty basic stuff, but this is only to show it's in working order."
