Genoqs Octopus Limited Edition Diva

via this auction

"This is a new, one of a kind Genoqs Octopus. It is a custom made hybrid of the Limited Edition Diva and the standard Lionhead... As you may know, there were five limited edition Diva models released made from solid stone. The model here has the faceplate and gold buttons from the Diva set in a Lionhead frame. As a nice touch, the guys at Genoqs labelled this Diva number 6. This is a one of a kind unit, there are no more like this anywhere on earth."

Roger Powells original Mini Moog for Auction?

via this auction

As always, the description below is from the listing. For those new to MATRIXSYNTH, none of the auction items featured here on MATRIXSYNTH are mine. I just post what comes in. Also I typically only post the interesting bits of a description, so if you plan to bid, ALWAYS make sure to read the listing in full on eBay.

That said, here are some interesting bits from the listing:
"You are Bidding on Roger Powells original Mini Moog that he used to play in Todd Rundgrens Utopia!...

This moog at the moment is not making sound. When I first inherited it from Todds Fan Network about 20 years ago it made a perfect clear sound! But now it seems to have stopped. It is also missing the wheels as you can see by the photo. Otherwise it is in awesome condition. The insides look great. This is perfect for someone who knows about these instruments and can work on it a little...

I have no documented proof that this is Rogers but here is how I got it. Utopia had a warehouse up in my neck of the woods in the 80's and it burned down. Some of the stuff was salvaged and stored at Cris Andersons studio in Bearsville, one of todds sound engineers at the time. When the band no longer wanted the equipment it was given to the woman who used to run the Utopia Times. And she had no place to store it so it was given to me because I was actively helping with Utopia Times.. did the artwork etc. I also got Rogers poly fusion keyboard,(no plug unfortunately) drum machine, some kind of interface and also one of Willie Wilcox's drum from the Motorcycle drum set he used on the RA tour. I just dont play keyboards and I decided to part with it. I will be selling most of the stuff over the next month. I am sorry that I don't have anything written but I can assure you .. it was Rogers."

Free Ableton Rack #17: AfroDJMac FirecRACKer Rack

YouTube Uploaded by AfroDjMac on Jul 19, 2011

"This weeks free Ableton download was made entirely with a recording of fireworks from the 4th of July on Long Island, NY. I put the sample into a granulator synth in Max for Live, and then sampled that with Sampler (and Simpler!) in Ableton. There's a nice textured pad/keys sound, as well as a dangerously ferocious bass sound. I tried to get something fierce a few weeks ago with the Fender Feedback Rack ( http://bit.ly/freesynth15 ) but the results were unexpectedly (yet pleasingly) mellow and smooth. This time it's different, this bass sound is ruthless if you ask me.

Pipes

YouTube Uploaded by organfairy on Jul 19, 2011

"For some years I collected old organpipes with the intention of making some kind of instrument out of them when I had enough. But I have come to the conclusion that it is a bigger task than I first imagined.
Therefore I handed them over to a friend who has an experimental band who are always looking for odd instruments. Maybe they can make something out of them.

But before I handed them over I recorded some samples of them. After some small adjustments I took the best of these and transferred to the little Yamaha VSS-30 keyboard with build-in sampler. Then I made a small melody where I used the sampled sound of the pipes.

The other instruments I used was Yamaha HE-8 organ, Korg Rhythm 55 drum machine, and Roland JX-8P synthesizer."
