Bob Moog - A Personal Rememberance from His Daugher

Today marks the anniversary of Bob Moog's passing. Michelle Moog-Koussa, Bob Moog's Daughter and Director of The Bob Moog Foundation wrote in to let me know of a post she put up on her Facebook page. It is a beautiful and poignant tribute to her father. Click through for the full post.

"Most of all, thank you for giving me the guidance needed to be myself and to stand up for what I believe in. That ability has served me well over the past six years. I remember, as a little girl, the sense of strength that was transmitted when I held your hand, or when you held my face in your hands and kissed me on the cheek. I am grounded in that strength. That strength is my foundation."

We miss you Dr. Robert A. Moog. Thank you for everything.

Modded Arp Avatar Analog

via this auction

via the listing: "). This unit has a great additional modification, (please see picture w/ the 2 knobs) 2 knobs that control Osc #2. The bottom knob controls Osc #2 as an Octave switch (4 one octave increments), while the top knob controls (minor 3rd, major 3rd,4th (slightly flatted) , augmented 4rth, all by turning the knob 1 click at a time), these mods are really handy and very welcomed! The Avatar has some very cool features which include CV input into both Filter and osc #2. I have used my Euro modular to control these, and it can transform this instrument on to a whole new level. (By the way, the osc.'s track quite well from an external cv/gate/trigger keyboard (I was using my Korg Monopoly) as well as my Future Retro Revolution). You can also send external trigger/gate signals into it and also control it's LFO...I tried this using a Korg Monotribe, and it tacked beautifully! Of course since it is very similar to the Odyssey, it has that wonderful Arp ring modulator that can really sing! There are many other really cool things about this unit that can be said, these are but a few of it's highlights..."

"quick mess around with another Killer PSS-470....

Pitch Mod, LFO, Phazer (!), Mean Oscillation & Wicked FM Glitch...

Use the glitch buttons to generate unique Chord & Bass sounds, Disrupted Rhythms, Twisted Drums and fragmented tones.
Use the Glitch Knob to generate rhythmic noise-scapes from drum damage.

Usual Glitch-Punk style with lots of shiney metal, Green PCB & Metal Keys. Sadly my old camcorder won't quite capture the detail."

Diss Ease [Flight of Harmony Track]

"Easy listening for the Exterminating Angel.

An exercise in minimalism, inspired by a thread at Muff's forum to see what can be done using one primary module.
The module used here is the Plague Bearer from Flight of Harmony and is the only audio source of the entire piece. The other modules in use are a passive multiple and a VCA providing a FX send.

The rest of the voices are derived from the Eventide PitchFactor. Final FX from Eventide Space.

Less is sometimes more.

Said the Angel."
