Powerhouse 8 Track Mellotron Style Tape Drum Machine Rhythm Unit
via this auction
"Sound Sales Inc / Bandmaser Powerhouse 8 Track Drum Machine Rhythm Unit based on similar technology to the mellotron.
Sound Sales Inc. was a company that serviced Mellotrons in the US, and they essentially ended up with the Mellotron inventory and the rights to the Mellotron name after the complicated collapse of the original makers of the Mellotron.
This has no other link with a mellotron and is very different in the fact that it is a Drum machine. It works by playing 8 track tapes at variable speeds to create rhythms. There are 8 Tapes with the unit with various styles like Motown, Samba, Funk, Twist, waltz, Bossa nova, Quickstep, mambo.
The condition of this retro beast is pretty good considering it is over 30 years old. All tapes seem to work although some sound better quality than others which depends how much use they have seen.
this link [Retro Synth Ads] has more details."

YAMAHA SK-20 analog string/brass/organ
via this auction
abertronix (RSS)
"A lovely sounding organ / strings / polysynth . String sound is comparable to the Roland RS 202 and you can build up more complex sounds because of the 3 sections. PItch of the organ/string section can be detuned against the pitch of the polysynth. It contains an excellent ensemble effect in addition to vibrato and tremelo effect. Its a little heavy so best suited for studio use!
The analog section strings/polysynth sound , to me , is very beautiful ; grainy ., a very physical real sound . "
