"Create your own Music Box music, and easily share your compositions with others.
Designed to aid composing your own music prior to punching the paper strips for Music Boxes, MBC allows you to compose, preview, play, save and share (via Twitter, Facebook, Email or iTunes file transfer) your creations.
For an example of a shared composition: http://www.jellybiscuits.com/mbc/mbp.php?lL5nDF79 - Add, move, delete notes - Disable Notes for temporary changes - Multiple undo - Ripple edits - Save and Load (access the save location via iTunes File Sharing) - Retina display support for the new iPad - Sounds sampled from physical Music Box for added reality :)
The physical Music Boxes with the paper punch strips and are great fun - what I found was missing was an easy way to preview either transpositions or original creations. This aims to fill that gap but it's also a fun music creation tool in it's own right.
Tips: - Notes are added/edited in either the lower or middle strip. Use two fingers to pan. - Start with the 'Add' button, the tap in the lower strip view to set a note. Touch and slide your finger to add a note and adjust where it ends up - the note is played as you create/change pitch so it's easy to get what you need. - Use the zoomed in view to see what you are doing if you are adding in the lower strip. In the middle strip a zoomed in view pops up to the side (you can turn this off in the options). - You can use the Add and Move modes together - it will then only add a note if it doesn't find one near where you tap. With 'Add' only it creates regardless, but with both modes active you can add and adjust easily. - Turn off 'Snap' mode to allow you to place notes between the vertical bars. - The select mode allows you to swipe across an area to select, select a range to copy, control where the notes are pasted to, as well as simply being able to tap to select/deselect.
"Encanti demos a few patches included in Mutant Revolution: a new expansion pack for Z3ta+2 by Cakewalk. The patches are being modified and altered while playing back MIDI notes, showcasing the range of tones and expression that each patch has to offer. This example uses a QuNeo MIDI controller by Keith McMillen Instruments.
Mutant Revolution is the third part in a series of expansion packs programmed by synthesist/electronic musician Encanti. Get the rest of the Mutant series to take your Z3ta+2 sound to the next level!
"I have found a midi file that I used here as background (drums, rythmic acoustic guitar and the bass). The rest is played in Live ; there are 2 presets in Guitar bank that you can use to play that famous Fender Stratocaster thru Vox Amp and reverb/chorus/delay effects ; here I tried to reproduce the atmosphere of the sixties, when Hank Marvin played with The Shadows, that famous part. I choose 2 presets : Strato (preset 6 number C6) with insert (blues amp off axis that I modified the volume envelope) and a Velo Muted Strat (preset 6 number C7). And I play with the pitch bender to simulate the vibrato hand applicated by real guitarist !"

"Go behind the scenes of legendary rock band Queen and see how the Korg Kronos is the only keyboard needed on tour to perform the multitude of hits covering 30 years including "The Show Must Go On" and "Radio Gaga". Spike Edney has been Queen's musical director and keyboard player performing on all the tours since 1984, including the legendary Live Aid gig.
Along the way, Spike has relied on a variety of Korg Instruments including Triton Extreme, CX-3 combo organs and M3 Workstations (hence you can see Spike's customized M3 logo keyboard stand!), and during 2012, the Kronos Workstation."
