Evaton Technologies RF Nomad Atomic Shadow Edition

"RF Nomad, Atomic Shadow Edition, sneak peek of the faceplate. A custom one-off (or is it...?) retrofit of the RF Nomad Eurorack module into MU/dotcom format. Look for it to be broadcasting from yesterday's world of tomorrow, in the future!

Adaptation of the RF Nomad module for Atomic Shadow (http://www.atomicshadow.com/), who wanted one to use in his fantastic 1950's-themed rig.

Knobs are real vintage 1970s pieces from an old-school DIY synth."

It sounds huge, doesn't it?

"Synthpop with an ambient horror/thriller movie feeling to it. Everything is produced on old analog synthesizers such as the Minimoog, Oberheim OB1 and ARP Odyssey."

Bob Moog Foundation's Ignite Gala Sparks a Crowd

via The Bob Moog Foundation

[BMF's Michelle Moog-Koussa and Toto's Steve Porcaro]

"Encino, CA - October 2014... The First Annual Bob Moog Foundation Ignite Gala is one for the history books, exceeding even the most optimistic expectations.

Held to benefit the Foundation's hallmark educational initiative, Dr. Bob's SoundSchool, the event brought a full house of the best and brightest in music, recording, science, and technology to the splendid Encino, California home of Michael and Edie Lehmann Boddicker.

Guests were treated to an intimate candlelight dinner, capped by an amazing performance by a star-studded house band that included keyboardists CJ Vanston (Prince, Tina Turner, Toto, Joe Cocker, Spinal Tap) and Steve Porcaro (Toto), bassist Leland Sklar (James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Toto), drummer Joe Pusateri (John Lee Hooker, John Entwistle, the Muppets "Animal"), guitarists Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan) and Tony Valenziano (The Stand, Smash), and singers Joseph Williams (Toto) and Rob Giles (Circa Zero, The Rescues), as well as a guest performance by theremin virtuoso Michael Gough."

[The House Band: Joseph Williams, Joe Pusateri, Steve Porcaro, CJ Vanston, Jeff Baxter, Tony Valenziano, Leland Sklar]

" Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Bob Moog Foundation's hallmark educational initiative, Dr. Bob's SoundSchool, a 10-week experiential curriculum teaching children about the science of sound through the magic of music. Now in its fourth year, Dr. Bob's SoundSchool currently serves more than 1,000 second-grade students in 55 classrooms. Executive Director Michelle Moog-Koussa, shared with guests the Foundation's plans to expand Dr. Bob's SoundSchool, including an upcoming pilot program in Southern California.

Visitors were welcome to see and play many of Boddicker's vintage instruments from his extensive collection, including a rare, custom engineered Moog modular synthesizer, Polymoog, Minimoog Model D, Moog Drum Controller, Big Briar theremin signed by Bob Moog, Moog String Filter, and a custom Multiple Resonance Filter Array-24 designed by Moog himself. Within the rooms of Michael Boddicker's studio, guests were treated to exclusive previews of new inventions in the Inventor's Corner including the new Vo-96, a revolutionary acoustic synthesizer for guitars, the Jambé, a new electronic percussion instrument, and Center Point Stereo monitor, which delivers a 300 degree sound field from a single cabinet."

[Michael and Edie Lehmann Boddicker]

'We were absolutely overwhelmed by the attendance at our first Ignite Gala, and by the tremendous support we have received,' remarked Michelle Moog-Koussa, Executive Director of the Bob Moog Foundation. 'This is just the first in a series of events we have planned to raise awareness for the Foundation, and it is clear that Dr. Bob's SoundSchool is a program that resonates with educators and parents nationwide. We're looking forward to our next event.'

'It was a tremendous honor for me and the band to pay tribute to Bob Moog's pioneering legacy by performing at this event for the Bob Moog Foundation," stated musical director CJ Vanston. "What a great way to honor the legacy of a man whose innovations have brought so much to contemporary music.'"

Shruthi-1 Programmer / Editor with 3 Voiceboards

"The Shruthi is a hybrid digital/analog monosynth.
Its hardware design is deceptively simple, but the sonic range is wide: sometimes grungily digital like a PPG-Wave, fat
and funky like a SH-101, videogame-y like a Commodore 64, weird and warm like an ESQ-1 ; but more often than not, truly original.

Contrary to the hardware you can purchase at the music shop next door, a Shruthi isn’t designed to be industrially manufactured.
Indeed, its assembly doesn’t require any specialized equipment, besides a screwdriver, cutters, a soldering iron and two hands.

You will receive a fully assembled, tested and working Shruthi-1 "Editor" with two Voice/Filter-boards and the "Hardware" Editor in one case.
With the "digital" Programmer you are defining and editing the sounds directly on the synth. Each Filterboard has it's own audio in and output (6,3mm) and
is midi controllable.

The installed voice/filtercards are:

- Roland IR3109 Filterboard (Demo of the actual unit) with Original Roland IR3109 Chips and Capacitors.
- Tubeohm Ladder VCF (Demos can be found here)

The third voice/filtercard is the SVF Filter from Mutable Instruments:

"Vendor Info:

Continuum has it’s roots in my previous guitar effects pedal designs. First there was Causality 4, then Causality 6, then Gemini Dual Core.
Continuum looks and acts rather like a VCF, in fact that’s exactly what a phaser is, an all-pass VCF. There’s far more to phasers than just sweeps up and down from an LFO, so Continuum has two CV inputs, so you can use a variety of CV sources simultaneously.

The topology of Continuum is 4 swept OTA all-pass filter stages with a fixed all-pass filter stage either side of the swept core. There’s a switch to select regen over odd or even stages. Most phasers stick to odd stages, but there are undiscovered sonic possibilities using even stages of regen.

Continuum @ Modular Grid

Wanna hear it? First, let’s phase some pink noise:

Continuum Noise

So now, with a couple of VCOs as audio, let’s send S/H into one CV input then an ADSR into the other, while slowly turning up the resonance:

Continuum SH Env

Now, a single VCO as audio, with ADSR to one CV input of Continuum, and slowly introducing a -1oct sub osc to the other CV input:

Continuum FM

Finally, here’s how it sounds phasing my Roland RS-09:
