"You are bidding on a Vostok synth from Analogue Solutions, which incorporates many of their modules with a VCS3 style pin matrix. The Vostok can sculpt incredibly thick sounds, especially when overdriving the filter it can generate leads and baselines with a lot of variety.

The synth contains:

3 oscillators
pin matrix
ring modulator
2 lfos
8 step sequencer
attenuated joystick
output meter
2 envelope generators
noise and sample and hold
6 channel mixer
splits
(ludicrously beefy) filter based on the MS20, killer bass comes out of this thing!
midi input
Included in the sale also:
8 patch leads (ignore the image, in retrospect 4 seemed rather measly)
10 standard matrix pins
6 resistor pins (for mixing signals)"

Korg EX800 polyphonic synth

"The Korg Poly-800 is a synthesizer released by Korg in 1983. Its initial list price of $795 made it the first fully programmable synthesizer that sold for less than $1000. It featured a 49 key non-velocity sensitive keyboard, two buttons for data entry, and a joystick controller, which could modulate the DCO pitch or the VCF. Though the Poly-800 had MIDI, it did not feature MIDI sysex functionality, and patches had to be backed up to cassette tape. It had 8-voice polyphony (paraphony) with one DCO per voice. It could be switched into double mode which stacks two DCOs for a fuller sound, but reduces the polyphony to 4 voices. It featured one analog resonant low-pass VCF with 24dB/oct which was shared for all voices. Like a monophonic synthesizer, the filter was switchable between single or multiple modes. In single mode, the first key pressed triggers the filter envelope, and unless all keys are released, the filter does not re-trigger. In multi mode, each key pressed in turn triggers the filter envelope, even if other keys are still pressed down.

Further it had three digital envelope generators, a noise generator, an LFO, and a chorus effect. It also sported a simple built in sequencer.

About a year after the Poly-800 was introduced, a keyboardless, rackmount/tabletop version, called the EX-800, was released, adding limited MIDI sysex capability."

SolidGoldFX - surf rider III + electroman vs KORG ms-20 / System-1

Published on Apr 12, 2015 ollilaboratories

"I have recently had the opportunity to try out some excellent pedals from SolidGoldFX- this time i hooked up the surf rider III (reverb) and electroman (delay) with the KORG ms-20 mini. Accompanying the ms.20 sequence is a simple but beautiful lead sound on the System-1 which uses its internal FX delay and reverb processing.

This is a classic, kill your darlings track... it actually started out with bass / drums etc etc.. but i chose to strip it down to just to the two remaining components, sequence and melody, it felt more organic this way.

I hope you like it... and also as always no mutitracking or post processing, all played live (ms-20 sequenced by ableton live)

Also, please make sure to check out SolidGoldFX at http://solidgoldfx.com/"

"Watch this demo video to find out all about the CME X-key 37 keyboard! You can also win one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqE_RJZydHQ

The CME Xkey 37 is a three-octave USB-MIDI keyboard controller. It's slim, sturdy and features a detachable breakout cable with additional connectors (pedal inputs and a DIN-MIDI output). It doesn't need any drivers, so you can connect it directly to your computer or iPad and start playing with it. There are a lot of free instrument apps, available on Apple's iOS App Store, for example."
