Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator - Lunch break Jam

Published on Mar 16, 2016 Matt Greer

"Teenage Engineering PO-12 Rhythm, PO-20 Arcade & PO-28 Robot with a Korg KP-mini doing a live improvisational synth jam.

Hi Gang,

This is more of an experiment really but it's the first of a series of recordings I'll be doing during my lunch breaks. You see, I started a new diet and I'm not going out for lunch anymore so I have some free time. This was the first test run to see how things would go.

I'm building a larger, all battery powered mini-studio that will fit inside an aluminum case. It will use my Novation Circuit, Pocket Operators, Volca Keys, a couple guitar pedals and a battery powered mixer recording into the trusty DR-05. BUT.. I haven't finished building that yet so this was just a mess around with the PO's.

Don't expect anything magical here. I'm just messing around and I've found this particular signal chain seems to introduce a lot of noise. It'll be better when I split the sync off and send the audio for the PO's into the mixer individually.

Thanks for watching.

KORG VOLCA Keys | Sample | Beats - "Perfecting a Drop" - Live Tutorial / Jam (by justleroy//)

Published on Feb 19, 2016 justleroy synths&sequences

"A quick demo / jam session with a few ways you can get creative with your drops / song arrangements using Active Step, Decay/Delay drops, EG INT, Muting and Filters. This is all done live using the same Pattern throughout - which is a sequence from a SCHØØLTRIP song (soundcloud.com/schooltrip)

Drop 1 @ 1:03
Drop 2 @ 3:05

Apologies for the poor sound quality, just had everything going through an amp for quickness and one mic setup in the room (which isn't a great room)"

2 Korg Volca Beats + a vocoder

Published on Jan 28, 2016 Tony Horgan

"Here I'm sending the left channel of one Volca Beats to a Novation MiniNova, set to the Robot Voice vocoder. The right channel of that Volca Beats goes via a Korg KaossPad Quad for a stereo delay effect. The other Volca Beats is split into two channels on the mixer, EQed so that one has only the bass and the other has only the midrange and treble. The midrange and treble channel gets some reverb from the mixer (a Tascam DP24). All the channels get compression and EQ from the mixer. So from the two "mono" Volca Beats units I have used six channels on the mixer, two of which are set up as stereo pairs. The moral of the story: split the left and right channels of your Volca Beats output to get more interesting sounds!"
