Details on the Erogenous Tones GateStorm Eurorack Module

You might remember the prototype GateStorm module from Erogenous Tones & SSF at Knobcon last year. Details are now in via Erogenous Tones:

"GateStorm, a collaborative module from Erogenous Tones and Steady State Fate, is designed to be an advanced Gate Generator with a highly flexible CV system with as much depth as you are willing to go. GateStorm was designed to be fun, intuitive, and more importantly, powerful. Don’t be overwhelmed by how much information is shown to you on it’s integrated display, once you start using it, you will see just how important and useful seeing that much information becomes.

While we are putting together videos to demonstrate all the functionality, design, and use of GateStorm, here are some highlights of most of the features that we are putting into production.

Overall Features:

8 Gate Generators (4 Complex Lanes & 4 Simple Lanes)
7 Gate Inputs
1 Clock Input for Syncing GateStorm to an external clock
Includes TAP TEMPO button as well
4 Local Gate Inputs
2 Global Gate Inputs (1 with integrated button to use when not patched)
6 CV Inputs with Attenuator (Normalized to DC voltage)
8 Gate Outputs (0-10V) with Integrated White LEDs

New Erogenous Tones LEVIT8 Eurorack Utility Module

via Erogenous Tones

"Levit8 is a high density utility module designed to give you a large number of attenuator/gain functions along with optional mix, invert, DC offset and polarity indication for incoming signals.

While we are putting together videos to demonstrate all the functionality, design, and use of Levit8, here are the features of the module.

Overall Features:

8 channels of attenuate or gain up to ~2x
Each channel normalized to provide up to 10v DC when no signal attached.
4 of the input channels can be inverted
Bi-color (red/blue) LED is after the inverter so you always know signal polarity
Output mix configuration can be used with 3 different topologies
Channel 4 mix engaged will mix channels 1-4 out channel 4 output
Channel 8 mix engaged with Channel 4 mix also engaged, 1-4 out channel 4 and 5-8 out channel 8
Only channel 8 mix engaged, 1-8 out channel 8
channels 1,2,3,5,6,7 still provide straight through signal regardless of mix setting
Aluminum knobs with knurled edge for easy manipulation
10 HP
Skiff Friendly (Very shallow)
Power: +12v/-12v
Current: [coming soon]"

"Restored by previous owner who gave it a paint job, new pots etc. There is an issue with the Octave control whereby pressure needs to be applied for the unit to produce sound (I got round this by taping the knob down). Everything else works adequately and the unit produces some nice sounds. It just needs a bit of TLC and someone who knows vintage synths better than me to get the Octave issue sorted. Low starting price due to the above"

New Moog Eurorack Modules - Geodesic Samplers & Geospatial Reverbs

Another one spotted by Soviet Space Child, via @hami.

These are part of the Global Synthesizer Project at Moogfest posted earlier here.

Moog's New BFAM - Brother From Another Mother - Synthesizer with Step Sequencer

via @hami

Another surprise from Moogfest. The knobs reveal it all. Single oscillator, noise, mix knob for the two, filter, Envelop, sequencer glide, gate length, clock rate, run/stop button, step knobs and step gate on/off switches.

Note the "Moogfest 2016 Engineering Workshop" on it. This is the one off synth for the event originally mentioned here.

Update5: We now have confirmation with an official video from Moog Music.

"After more than 30 years, the Minimoog Model D returns with a pilot-production run at Moogfest 2016 in Durham, NC. Handcrafted in the Moog Pop-Up Factory, the pilot-production units built during the festival will only be available for purchase on-site in the Moog Store by Guitar Center."

Moog Reintroduces The Minimoog Model D - Moogfest Video

Published on May 19, 2016 Synthtopia

"At Mioogfest 2016, Moog Music has reintroduced the classic Minimoog Model D.

We talked with Moog's Nick Montoya about the new Minimoog Model D, what's changed and what they've kept the same.

They've gone to great lengths to recreate the iconic Minimoog sound - but also added a new LFO, a better keyboard and support for additional control voltage options."

Inside The New Minimoog Model D

"At Moogfest 2016, Moog reintroduced the classic Minimoog Model D.

We talked with Moog's Nick Montoya, gave us a tour of the inside of the new Minimoog Model D, and explained some of the lengths they went to to nail the original Minimoog sound, and also what they changed to make the new Minimoog more reliable."

How To Build A New Minimoog Model D Synthesizer

Published on May 26, 2016 Synthtopia

"At Moogfest 2016, Moog reintroduced the classic Minimoog Model D synthesizer.

They also had a 'pop-up factory' onsite at the event. Basically, they moved their production line to Durham for the week and were assembling the new Minimoog's at the festival.

We talked with Moog's TJ Mills, who gave us a tour of their assembly process.

They start from a collection of individual parts and pre-assembled components from suppliers. The circuit boards, for example, are supplied pre-populated, using a variety of new and 'new old stock' parts. And the metal components are supplied reshaped and drilled to Moog's specifications.

In the video, TJ discusses what gets done at each stage of their assembly process, and how they calibrate and test the synthesizer once it is assembled."

This one in via Soviet Space Child, via @Peff

I heard a rumor that it might have been shown at the Musikmesse, but there were no images at the time. This looks a bit more legit, unless of course that's just a vintage Model D being refurbished for Moogfest. :)

Update: via the Herald Sun: "A Moog Pop-Up Factory, featuring the interactive Global Synthesizer Project and assembly of Minimoog Model D synthesizers, opens in the Power Plant Gallery of the American Tobacco District."

Note the plural in "assembly of Minimoog Model D synthesizers". These are real and new. Soviet Space Child also noticed the three MINI jacks on back and the lack of an S-Trig jack on the left.

Update2: Another pic in via Soviet Space Child below. This one shows a dedicated LFO knob in the mod wheel section.

Update3: One more image of the parts spread out below and a quick video test of one being played by Gene Stopp.

Update4: Suggested price is $3499
