Original Roland TR-808 TV Commercial?

Roland TR-808 Original Advert

Published on Aug 7, 2016 Karl Charles

"The original Roland TR808 TV commercial from 1980."

"I’ve been digging through my archive looking for this since I saw the 808 doc last year at the BFI. Very happy to be able to share it for 808 day."

Update: at the very end of the video you will see a 1980 copyright for Origin Workshop.

"Origin Workshop is the home of Director Alexander Dunn and Producer Matthew Jarman.

After meeting while working on the feature documentary 808, they set up Origin Workshop in 2015
to develop new projects and craft content. They are currently developing a number of projects including
a film about the legendary RAK Studios in London."

DreamsOfWires - Arturia Microbrute (with Korg Volca Keys)

Published on Aug 5, 2016 DreamsOfWires

"I picked up a cheap Microbrute today, since I sold my Micromoog and Minibrute SE (not because it sounds like the offspring of the two), so the first thing I did with it was a little idea I'd already recorded using the Minibrute and Micromoog a while ago, but never got around to finishing and uploading it. I'll probably finish that version too and upload it to Soundcloud this week.

Anyway, this is pretty typical stuff from me really, sounding like something from a cheap slasher flick. The bass notes were done using the Volca Keys, both parts were recorded, improvised, and messed up live into Cubasis on an iPad, with AUFX:Dub and AudioReverb, using an Arturia Keystep purely as a keyboard.

Special thanks to those who bought my albums, it really is appreciated, it helps."

Hermigervill Plays Theremin vol. I – Le Cygne

Published on Aug 8, 2016 Hermigervill

"Hermigervill plays Le Cygne (The Swan) by Camille Saint-Saëns.

This is a Theremin standard which has been part of the Hermigervill live show for ages, but never properly recorded or documented.

The backing track is a MIDI track which runs through a MIDI modified Korg Polysix."

Easel Panning Test

"Headphones recommended! This is a little test using the Easel's Sequential Voltage Source to locate sounds in the stereo field via the Blue Lantern Simple Dual VCA. To see the patch in action go to this video:"

"NOTE: iphone doesn't pick up the stereo sound"

Malekko Heavy Industry - AD/LFO *FIRST PATCH*

Published on Aug 8, 2016

"Straight away I really like this module, love the module ... is loving part of a machine that's nearly useless on it's own weird - maybe ... but it's ace so it's ok! You've got 6 envelopes or LFOs grouped in two sets of 3 with a time switch (longer envelopes or shorter) and a loop switch per group of 3 ADs as well as sum outputs which are great for create new and more unique overlapping modulation shapes. Full overview video coming soon.

This patch is just 5 modules. The sound source is the ALM Akemie's Castle going into an Intellijel uVCA then into the TipTop Audio Z-DSP with the Halls Of Valhalla card. The AD/LFO modulates Akemie's Castle with the bottom three ADs triggered by the clock output of an SSF URA. The top three ADs are looping. The two S&H outputs on the URA modulate the amplitude of the A and B outputs on the two channels of the uVCA. Bias is used on the channels for constant level with added random amplitude on the stereo signals from the S&H."

"In this tutorial I show how to create the bass line from Herbie Hancock's Chameleon tune. Its a bit tricky as the original was apparently done on a ARP Odyssey."

"This is a vintage Moog Multimoog Analog Synthesizer. Excellent condition, very clean, minimal wear, no issues, all functions work perfectly. Fantastic & powerful analog synthesis with an incredible Sample & Hold, plus the filter on this synth sounds really gorgeous... Included are the original manual written by Tom Rhea & ac power cable. This synth can be used as a keyboard controller for Moog Modulars such as the Model 15 reissue, plus you'll have the two oscillators on board out to your mixer for more flexibility. A rare find in this condition, apparently only a 1,000 were made. Features include: 2 oscillators, a ribbon controller, variable waveforms, flexible Sample & Hold, LFO, aftertouch (for pitch, VCF, or LFO rate) and a great sounding 24dB Moog filter."
