"Just jamming with my buddy JC as he takes on the Sub37 and some poor camera framing leaves us wondering just what synth I’m playing exactly?! (I’ll give you a hint, it starts with an S and ends with “ystem-8”
Avoid minutes 4 and 5.... I think it gets gross there for a second or ten... and then it’s totally kewl again!"

DIY analog synth project (Steiner Parker "Type" VCF The Final Tweak)

Published on Nov 7, 2017 Adamski Ajull

"Hey guys back again with yet another modified Stiener Parker type 12db per oct VCF, this based on a mashup of Ken stone and Yves Ussons schematics.
I have increased the diode ladder from 10-12, and also the size of the capacitors in the ladder and also my own tailored trimming for keyboard tracking.
There is also a trimmerble diode pair in the resonance network , which can at some points sound like a nice distortion pedal and tames the wild resonance. i have also changed values in the Freq Cut and Res potentiometers resistance to ground to compensate for the bigger change in top end content.
PLEASE USE HEADPHONES OR SPEAKERS TO CATCH THE LOW END PROPERLY ;-).
Again many thanks to Yves Usson and Ken Stone for their inspirational circuits."

4ms IN/OUT: Tapographic Delay (TAPO) - Marc Kate

Published on Nov 7, 2017 4mspedals

"Using the QCD as the master clock, two channels of the STS are going into the Tapographic Delay. The force resistance sensor (and preset patches) are generating the polyrhythms, textures, and pitched percussions. With the SMR’s 1V/Octave outputs, pitch is sent to ALM’s Akemie’s Castle. The PEG triggers envelopes with the VCA Matrix for each note, and those notes then hit the DLD to create elongated melodies. The SMR’s six channels are then pinged, or plucked by the RCD gates. The SMR’s notes pass into the Tapographic Delay, accumulating varying tapped patterns."

Inspired: The Journey of Discovering My Famous Father | Michelle Moog-Koussa | TEDxAsheville

Published on Oct 18, 2017 TEDx Talks

"Although I knew my father for the 37 years that we were here on Earth together, I never really knew his public persona, Bob Moog, until he passed away. The path of discovery that followed has provided a deep well of inspiration, which has lead me on a journey to carry on his powerful legacy transforming people's lives through sonic exploration. Inspiration is a powerful cultural resource, and we must use it to do the most good for our challenged society. Michelle Moog-Koussa is the daughter of synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog. She has been the executive director of the Bob Moog Foundation for eleven years, and has spearheaded educational and historic preservation projects which inspire children and adults thought the science, music, technology and the spirit of invention. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx"

This is a great talk including not only some fascinating bits of synth history, but a rare glimpse of Bob Moog's personal life, from non other than his own daughter, Michelle Moog-Koussa.

Moogsaic: Bob, Synths, & Artistry T-Shirt

via The Bob Moog Foundation

"Celebrating Bob's contribution to the world of synthesis, illustrator David C. Lovelace offers a beautiful hand-drawn creation for our newest art t-shirt design, Moogsaic. Composed of over 250 hand-drawn, detailed synthesizers, modules, and other sonic components, Bob's image and intense gaze emerge to compel the viewer to examine the mosaic of skillfully placed musical hardware. Bob's signature wavy hair, composed of patch cables, crowns the design. It is a striking homage.

You can purchase the Moogsaic t-shirt here and you can read more about David's artistic process in developing the t-shirt here.

All purchases from our online store go to benefit our educational and historic preservation projects. Please keep us in mind as the holiday giving season approaches!"

Percussa SSP GUI Layout #3 - Kickstarter update

"Short video while testing the GUI code for the Percussa SSP on the computer (no sound). The basic idea is that you can insert synth modules anywhere you want in the network grid, by moving a selection rectangle using the navigation soft keys and the 'insert' key. When the modules are placed next to each other, the modules are patched together automatically."

via the Kickstarter campaign:

"Hi everyone,

It’s Celine here :-) The past week I’ve continued my work on the software GUI for the SSP, and started working on the implementation of the network editor.

The basic idea is that you can insert synth modules anywhere you want in the network grid, by moving a selection rectangle using the navigation soft keys and the “insert” key. When the modules are placed next to each other, the modules are patched together automatically.

[Above] you can see a short video (no sound) where I’m showing you how to insert, change, and delete synth modules. I’m testing the code on my computer using the Percussa Remote control surface, which is connected through USB to my computer.

Meanwhile Bert is hard at work on the PCB layout, he'll write an update later this week to give you the latest news :-)

Until next update!

Bert & Celine"
