via the seller: "This sale is for a vintage Oberheim Ob8 8 voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with factory midi. It’s in excellent cosmetic and working condition. It’s been cared for lovingly in a smoke free studio.

This particular OB8 was previously owned by Earth Wind and Fire, one of several they owned. After Maurice White passed, one of their techs was tasked with selling their extra gear; this was part of that sale."

"It is in superb shape for it's age and has none of the issues commonly found on ailing/unkempt P6s; the CPU board has a replacement coin battery holder with no leak prior battery leak damage. All the voices sound vibrant and full. This synth also has a CHD MIDI kit installed for playing the Polysix from an outside MIDI source (Ableton, external sequencer, etc). All of the keys trigger fine."

"A Casio that isn't a toy! These use a very similar sound engine to the Yamaha DX7. It's a bit easier to figure out than the DX7, and the built-in chorus really helps the sound come to life. I always run my DX7 through chorus, I always wondered why Yamaha didn't build one in. I wouldn't say this replaces a DX7 but try one out if you come across one in a shop - some people have really pushed these things to make incredible sounds."

"So here we have the YM3812 stand alone MIDI module

For those unfamiliar this module is similar in function to the Yamaha PSS-570 keyboard it lets you control all the sound making

parameters individually. With 22 saves available for sound profiles.

I have added a few new features to the firmware, so its time for an update video. First new feature, pitch bend wheel. Second new feature, sustain function, works with the pedal input on your keyboard. Third, saved configurations can be loaded with a Control change command. finally, velocity control, which can be enabled and disabled on the unit, or with control change sixty nine.This allows for playing notes soft or loud."

Future Moog Synth to be the GRANDMOTHER of Them All - Update: and a Moog One

This one is in via an anonymous reader. Moog Music has trademarked "GRANDMOTHER". The name is in line with the Mother-32, BFAM or Brother from Another Mother, and DFAM, Drummer from Another Mother. Moog is set to introduce the Sub-Harmonicon at this year's Moogfest.

Update: Moog One was registered as well.

Curious if either will feature what was discussed here.
