Volca FM: Deconstructed Electric Piano [Episode 53]

Published on Apr 27, 2018 CatSynth TV

"We demonstrate some of the programming features of the Korg Volca FM synthesizer by deconstructing the factory preset E Piano (from the original DX7 as well as every wedding and bar/bat mitzvah in the 1980s).

We go through some basic information of FM synthesis, show some deep-parameter editing, as well as real-time control and sequencing of algorithms. In a future video, we will show how to control such parameters from an external sequencer, something which was very challenging on the original Yamaha FM instruments.

Korg Monologue

Published on Apr 27, 2018 SyntheticMachines

"This is a 4 part demo with the Korg Monologue. All drums + monophonic sounds + FX sounds were made with the monologue, except Part 1, the drums were made with the MFB Tanzbär light.
A few polyphonic sounds ( chords + pads ) were played with the Korg Minilogue.
As usual multitrack recording + fx."

Spring Tank Reverb Eurorack Prototype Module

Published on Apr 27, 2018 gstormelectro

"Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c.2018

Today I am showing my prototype Spring Tank Reverb module. It's a driver for old school spring tanks like those found in vintage mixers and guitar amplifiers. The driver module has controls for Drive, Tone brightness and darkness, wet/dry mix, and an input for sending CVs to control the wet/dry mix. I'm using an envelope for CV, Beatstep Pro for trigger sequencing, and beats are coming from the Future Retro Transient. I also run the signal through my dual channel compressor, using a trick where both channels are cascaded for additional compression. I also briefly punch in some delay from Timefactor. Audio was recorded direct to Tascam through a Mackie mixer."

New Synth Coming from Dave Smith Instruments - The Sequential X

X Trailer Published on Apr 27, 2018 Dave Smith Instruments

:)

Two Instruments and two Oscillators in the Mixer section. Interesting. I'm guessing the Instruments are sample based. Or is it something different? That piano does sound good. What is that under Sync 1>2. Loop 1&2? Listen to how it morphs the sound. Crazy. Hmm...
