"Two-panel Serge CGS/Random*Source system. Professionally built and maintained (not by me) in 2008 (BOG) and 2015 (Edelweiss). Includes power supply, adapter, cable, 10 12” unbranded banana cables, 15 8” Pomona banana cables, and 4 shorting bars. Literally plug and play. The enclosures for both panels are bolted together but can be separated. The power supply powers both panels. There is a low-output 1/4” balanced mono output installed on the side of the BOG enclosure (resistors can be easily swapped if higher output/less attenuation is desired).

Both panels and power supply very recently serviced by professional builder in Chicago. Surface of enclosures show minor scuffing and scratches; merely cosmetic."

Elektron SidStation CMOS 6581 Commodore 64 Synth Module SN D91100353-81

"The SidStation is pretty special: it takes the chip used for legendary C64 games like Elite, Paradroid and Boulder Dash and wraps enough pro audio I/O around it to make a studio-ready module that you can drive via MIDI. It’ll do everything from icy PWM leads to gnarly 8-bit pads to bleepy chiptunes, and it sounds like *nothing* else out there. If you’re looking for a unique sound that’ll cut through any mix, this is it.

This one’s in perfect nick: I’m the second owner, and in the 12 years I’ve had it, it’s been carefully looked after in a smoke-free studio. I’m selling reluctantly, and only because I’m rationalising my gear for 2 live setups, and the SidStation’s too temperamental for live use!

It comes with a slightly battered copy of the original manual and an aftermarket power supply that’ll put out exactly the right current. However, I’d highly advise also using it with a power conditioner if you’re running it from a domestic wall socket - SidStations do not like wavering voltages or power surges!"

Yellow Orange (Synth Jam) Roland XP80 with RPS

Published on Aug 25, 2019 bitleyTM

"I finally learned how to use the Roland XP80's built in RPS (Realtime Pattern Sequencer) functionality so here I am triggering four sequences on the fly; two drum patterns, two simple background synths, a baseline. Jamming on top of this with two pad sounds. RPS is actually a cool function which kind of brought an Ableton vibe to this "JV-1080 with keyboard" about four years before Live was released. Roland is a company making synthesizers — often adding an extra edge over the competition. (XP30, 50, 60, 80 and JV-1010, 1080, 2080 are similar & fully compatible instruments from about 1994-1998, later replaced by the Fantom series). The movie was edited with MovieMator Pro. Quite cool — but the rendering / processing took almost 20 hours so it was the slowest Mac application I ever tried."

DREADBOX EREBUS II + VINTAGE CHAIN

Published on Aug 25, 2019 LESINDES

"There is a little story about the production of this video and why it is called VINTAGE CHAIN or JOURNEY INTO THE PAST. Someone asked me which (modular) oscillator I could recommend him. The reason for that was that a friend had send him some Schulze-like, Berlin School demos. Not his style but still he was so much impressed by how convincing simple practically invarient arpeggios and short sequencer lines could be if they just had this vintage sound vibe to them. That made him doubt his modular setup. I dropped a few names then. But asked him also to send me the tracks causing his doubts. Hearing them I immediately knew what he meant the special vibe was and I also had an idea what the essence of this VINTAGE SOUND could be.

The result is this video. I took DREADBOX EREBUS II as a very sweet sounding modern fully analog synth. But that's not enough it's only half way to the past. The other half is the ANALOG CHAIN after the synth. Erebus has a built in echo which is nice and handy but it's digital, it is also a bit dirty which makes really enjoyable but still, this is not the color we were looking for (you can hear the difference in the video), alright, so I took an ARIA AD-05 which is just average of that era but it's vintage and as sooon it is in the chain our sound was gaining more and more ground! All vintage recordings were made through a mixing desk, so as the last part in the signal path I inserted a NEVE 1073 clone which is doing faily well. First of all for its transformer balanced I/Os responsible for the candy in the sound and used a little bit of its famous EQ but just a little bit.

I stopped here and the audio was directly handed to the RME UFX. And I think it is sounding already quite convincing and pleasant

In order to complete this vintage process a tape multitrack machine and a tape master recorder should be used. Also a compressor could be hooked up.

The musical wiring is very simple. ARTURIA KEYSTEP is playing the arpeggios and triggering the EREBUS II via Midi."
