Korg Nu:Tekt NTS-1 Synthesizer Setup and quick jam with Volca Sample

Published on Jan 30, 2020 Expanding Sound

"Just got my Korg Nu:Tekt NTS-1 Synthesizer, a Christmas present from my brother, just delivered as it was on pre-order. I saw that it had the same effect section as the Minilogue XD and I was excited to try it with some Volcas and other synths. The XD has an awesome effects section. This is my first quick video with the new piece. I put the NTS-1 together and did a quick jam. The tiny screws and screwdriver are a little bit of a pain but it came together quick, like 20 mins or so with the tutorial. After it was together I started my noodling by checking out the NTS-1 effects on my sample. I also ran the arpeggiator on latch to create a quick melody to go with the beat.
Hope you enjoy it!"

"The AX60 is a polyphonic analogue keyboard synthesizer based on the Curtis CEM3394 and is among the last true analog polysynths of the mid-eighties. It was Akai's answer to the Roland Juno, and has a multi-mode chorus effect very similar to the Juno. It uses analogue VCOs, as opposed to The Juno's DCOs, & has a wonderfully resonant filter. Some other features the AX60 has that differ it from Juno are: Keyboard Split mode with an arp that works in split mode so you can play over an arpeggio. 5 LFO wave settings (Up, Dn, Tri, Sqr, RND). Separate rate/depth for PWM and PWM can effect any of the VCO waves (not just square). Manual is available as a free download."

"The Emulator III was E-MU's biggest classic "Digital Sound Production System". Also called the "EIII", it was E-MU's biggest and most professional sampler-synthesizer prior to the 1990's. It was the first sampler to offer 16-bit CD-quality specs with stereo or mono sampling at 44.1kHz or 33kHz. RAM memory is 4 MB expandable to 8 MB, this one has 8mb. There are extensive and modern sample editing features (from looping to rate conversions). The on-board 16-track sequencer and arpeggiator are also superb. Equipped with MIDI, SMPTE, SCSI, built-in disk-drive and multiple outputs, the EIII is comfortable in any studio. A Macintosh can also be hooked up to the EIII for easier graphical editing.

As a sampler workstation the EIII was at one time the dominating force. Although modern machines far exceed it today, the EIII is still a quality instrument with controls and functions that would be familiar to anyone who uses samplers. A very classic machine that can still stand strong among a generation of sampler workstations many years later, the EIII is still in use and will continue to be used for many more years."
