DEMO - Arpleasiator Novation Circuit Tracks Pack by Mike Davis

video by Isotonik Studios

""The lack of an arpeggiator option on the novation circuit has always been one of the weaknesses of its synths, and while there's workarounds, there has never been an immediate way to arpeggiate a note that's playing...until now

Arpleasiator is a pack for the Novation Circuit tracks that features 64 dual oscillator patches, each with multiple arpeggio functions and control, a host of performance features in the encoders and 64 hip hop, house and 8bit drum and percussion samples

Every patch is arranged to include 2 separate oscillators which can be voiced separately or combined with the turn of a knob, each of these oscillators can also be arpeggiated with the turn of another knob, essentially giving you 128 different oscillator choices in this pack, each with the ability to be modded and transposed on the fly.

Patches range from low dirty bass, and grinding saws, to twinkly plucks, and sustained pads, which can be used for a wide range of music or sound design...your creativity is the limit.

Macros are arranged in a way that best suits performance, movement, and change of sound, as there are separate encoders for turning arpeggio on and off, changing between the two oscillators, changing speed of arpeggio, changing voice and pitch of arpeggio, adding drive and distortion, and even a secret sauce knob.

A song or a loop can be completely transposed in time with the turn of a couple of knobs, really elevating jams and live performances, and really pushing the limitations of the Circuit tracks

We put a lot of love into this pack, and with its expansiveness and variability, it could be the end all be all circuit pack for you.

macro 1- turns arpeggiator on and off (normal - arpleasiator)
macro 2- SECRET SAUCE (USE WITH CAUTION)
macro 3 - switch between oscillators (2 different synths!!!)
macro 4 - change arpeggiator speed
macro 5 - detune
macro 6 - Sustain/release (Ambient mode)
macro 7 - Portamento/Decay
macro 8 - Drive/Distortion (when you need that EXTRA boost)
PLEASE NOTE

voice stealing can occur between oscillators when switching...if this occurs, just pump the drive/distortion knob(macro 8)...its there for a reason.

Apply secret sauce knob sparingly because it can really thrash whatever sound you're playing (or maybe that's exactly what you want)"

Making Synth Bass Sounds w/ Janek Gwizdala

video by Perfect Circuit

"While we are endlessly fascinated with the ever-expanding world of synthesizers, in reality there are many paths towards the same or similar sonic destinations. A good subtractive synthesizer is certainly a great tool for generating raucous tones capable of cracking paint on the walls, however you can easily achieve similar results by using an instrument like electric bass paired with a well-selected assortment of effects pedals. This is exactly the theme of this video where masterful bass player Janek Gwizdala demonstrates his approach for crafting rich-in-flavor synthetic tones with his trusted instrument and a moderately-sized pedalboard.

Originally from the UK, Janek is a Los Angeles based musician, composer, and producer. He also has his own vastly popular YouTube vlog where he offers his insights into everything music, and shares his passion for music technology. Having played with an impressive number of high caliber jazz musicians ranging from Mike Stern to Pat Metheny, Janek possesses a wealth of experience, and creative wisdom making it difficult to imagine a better candidate for this demonstration. Sit back, and enjoy the funk!

Alien Jazz (Volca Beats, Volca Bass, & Alien Screamer)

video by poorness studios

"For the next Weird Week video, I decided to use my KORG Volca Beats, KORG Volca Bass, and the super cool Alien Screamer from MFOS. I'm using the modulation oscillator to control the pitch of the Alien Screamer and then constantly changing the waveshaper settings.

You can see the Alien Screamer build video here:" [posted here]

PaSSBot by sonicLab - Demo and Tutorial

video by CatSynth TV

"We present PaSSBot, a unique stochastic filterbank plug-in by sonicLab. We go through its basic functionality including the different filter types and generators, including the probabilistic generator types. We show how these can be used to build up complex ever-modulating bank of filters.

For more information, please visit https://www.sonic-lab.com/passbot/

00:35 Basic Interface
01:14 Exploring a single filter
02:56 Multiple filters
03:28 The Generators
07:20 A resonator filterbank with harmonic distribution
09:30 Tuning scales
10:40 Factory presets

'PaSSBot is a unique stochastic filter bank plugin. a cloud of filters with complex modulation capabilities driving up to 64 unique parallel instances...The user can set values of center frequency, gain and resonance of the each filter, which will be then eloborated with powerful stochastic generators ( 4 independent GENs ) with continuous or discrete probabilistic distributions but also with standard waveforms.'

Getting Started with the Sensel Morph and Vital Synthesizer MPE

video by Sensel

"In a presentation style influenced by Cuckoo's mirror, Peter takes a deep dive into creating a MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) preset in Vital from @Matt Tytel. Starting from scratch, we create a very basic wavetable from a sample, and stretch, modulate and tweak until we achieve an other-worldly sound design under our fingers.

This doesn't cover every single detail, but is a complete walkthrough from patch initialization to a richly modulated and effected sound design.

1:16 Demo
2:39 Create a sample for Wavetable
3:28 Setup presets folder
4:00 Initialize preset
