Happy Nerding FX Aid effect selection via CV

video by Happy Nerding

"New CV assign destination is added – effect selection. So now CV can be used to switch between all 32 effects.
XL version: CV should be applied to the SRR input.
Just reupdate your favorite effects set via wav file to benefit from this new mode."

Self-paying on the Buchla 200

video by zack dagoba

"a self-playing patch, using some cybernetic elements:

Two VCOs (258) are cross modulated to produce an evolving sequence of clocks, not just random because the interactive nature of the cross modulation creates unexpected pauses and clusters - the envelope follower (model 230) helps in extracting the clocks. These are sent to an LPG which gates a modulating sound from the 259 - the main tone. The MARF sequences pitches, but these are shifted with a clocked random voltage, changing every 5 or 7 pulses (using the MARF programmable pulse out feature) There are 5 LFOs are all slightly different, and being clocked by more scaled down pulses from the MARF, so the LFOs are locked into the main set of pulses. The signal is split into several paths, one goes to the 277 delay (being modified by the same random voltage mentioned above) and the other going to the spring reverb, also being modified (by an LFO). These also go into 2 bandpass filters, being modulated with row 2 of the MARF. The stereo signal is being modified as well and the whole lot goes into the Buchla 100 signal leveller (model 172) and vintage eq (model 175)

Ambient Garden Jam on Battery Powered Mini Semi Modular

video by ChrisLody

"The incredibly cold and wet spring season we've had here in the UK seems to have finally given way to summer, so what a better way to make the most of the weather than a battery powered jam in the garden.

I've been building the rig in the video specifically to have something battery powered to jam and record on away from the studio but I was mostly thinking of writing on the sofa. But a few days ago we moved a sofa bed out of our cabin in the garden and it seems to have become garden furniture now, so this was a perfect place for a quick test of this setup.

It's perhaps not the best bit of music I've written but I had a few unexpected problems with my mini mixer being extremely quiet to begin which put me off my stride a bit. I ended up using the mixers mic inputs instead of line in which shouldn't have been necessary, but it works at least.

I'll make a vlog about the modular/semi modular 'Synth Tray' in a bit, but just quickly everything here is running on various rechargeable batteries and I'm using a Volca Modular, Bastl Kastle, Volca Beats (which I might replace with my Bastl Kastle Drum if it ever arrives....) Korg NTS1, Korg SQ1, Radio Shack Mixer, Korg SR1 'Sound on Sound' and a Suboos latern which has USB power to run the NTS1. There is a prototype board on there too but it wasn't used here. The reverb is provided by the Korg SR1 and the ambient sound is direct from my Sony HDR-CX240E and is played back dry. Molly the cat is on cable monitoring duties."

RF AD Multi Vco Krell patch

video by Radical Frequencies Modular

"The sound is directly from the RF AD Multi Vco into RF Vca.
Other modules used for this patch :
The RF dpvco as modulator for the fm and sync of the main AD multi Vco ,
The RF Vc Adsr which is the clock generator and envelope,
The RF Lucky Voltages as random voltages as sample and hold that send random values to Vc Adsr ,
4ms Pingable Envelope Generator ,
Euclidean Circles as sequencer ,
RF Quad Vca Mixer ,
And finally a Mutable Instruments Beads as delay reverb effect."

"An ultra rare mono synth from 1976! This often overlooked synth sounds great. It is capable of some really awesome early analogue sounds.

Only 100 units made, imagine how much left! It can make some weird noises largely due to it's retro-cool ring modulator.

You can also run external sounds through it.

It has two VCOs, two kinds of Ring Modulation, three kinds of Noise and the High Pass and Low Pass filter a featured on dual traveller sliders!

Oscillator Subtractive synthesis analog mono synthesizer with 2 VCO and portamento mode:

- VCO1: octave range from 64' to 2', tuning +/- 5 semitones, shapes triangle, square, saw, pulse, pulse with variable width. Also special external mode (see filter)

- VCO2: octave range from 16' to 1, tuning +/- 5 semitones, shapes saw, Ring modulator 1/2, Scale Noise, Pink Noise and White Noise.

FILTER The filter is analog (Traveler) allows flexible and sofisticated LPF, BPF and HPF with 'BRIGHT' which is the resonance.

ENVELOPE single EG generator "AR" Attack/Singing Level, the Range is based on 3 level presets

LFO Single delayed triangle modulator with variable depth and reaches a pretty high frequency for some FM modulation on pitch.

Also can acts as a simple VCA vibrato. It's got a fast envelope, auto bend, and LFO re-trigger too."
