"This unit is from the last batch (built in 2010) by Alesis.

Serial A10806045701015

It was never gigged, only used in the studio and taken great care of.

It is truly fully functional (which appears to be rare with these).

- the ribbon works

- all knobs/buttons work

- all 16 voices work fully

It was serviced at Audio Design and Service Inc in Burbank in Jan 2022

At the time one of the headphone output amps was dying, which was a simple fix. This is the only issue I've ever had with it. I had it given a full once-over at the time.

An ex-colleague of mine was a tech at Alesis when the A6 was being sold, he pointed me to ADS as the owner/one who serviced it was an A6 tech as well and thus very knowledgeable about these.

I would call it Mint condition, except some minor paint-only scratches in the rear and discoloration of the lettering on the rear which is a tad yellowish vs how it was new."

"A good entry level digital synth. It's small in size, simple in its design and offers fairly easy editing. It is a digital FM type synthesizer which makes some very thin and digital but sometimes interesting sounds. The synth engine is similar to the DS-8 without on-board effects. It has 8 parts so each voice can play a different patch, and is completely programmable through MIDI. It isn't necessarily useful for any professional work but if you want a lo-fi cheesy digital sound from a toy-like synthesizer then give the 707 a try! It can even be strapped on like a guitar. It is used by Juan Atkins."

Roland Fantom EX // ACB vs Zen-Core ABM

video upload by Starsky Carr

"For the first time we have ACB and Zencore models in the same synth. In this video I compare the new ACB (Analog Circuit Behaviour) synth models in the Roland Fantom to its existing ABM (Analog Behaviour Modelling) Zen-Core Model Expansions.

In this I demo how the SH101 models differ from my vintage original, and show how the Jupiter 8 models have different functionality.

ACB is more processor intensive for your more extreme solo sounds, whereas ABM gives us more polyphony and layering options. To keep it simple in the video I refer to the ABM versions as Zen-Core, but just remember they are their own technology that is different to the standard Zen-Core synth engine"

4 New Featured Packed Eurorack Modules from SSF // Steady State Fate at Knobcon 2023

In this video back from Knobcon, Andrew takes us through 4 new Eurorack modules. Including the Metalloid Percussion synthesiser, Prime Modulator, Ultra Random Analog Redux and the Impulse Dynamics."

The Runner v2.0 (pain demo)

video upload by Møffenzeef Mødular

"A minimal synth cover of Pain by Boy Harsher using The Runner v2.0.

All sounds in this video (including drums!) are coming from The Runner v2.0."

Intellijel SeaLegs | One of the best delays out there.

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"Anything I'd say about SeaLegs would come out as a sales pitch. What I can say is that I am a happy customer and it will give a lot of existing delays a hard time if this were a competition. But it's not. A typical Rabbit Hole has a lot of delays to choose the best one for the right job. If you still need to pick your very first delay module, you can safely put it on your shortlist."

Update:

Sealegs Firmware 1.1 Update

"A quick addendum to my Sealegs video. Firmware 1.1 was released while I was making my video and repairing my ShapeShifter so I totally missed it and forgot to check. It adds two important features: Drive can now be set to different positions in the signal path. The Digital mode doesn't shift pitch anymore when you change clock divisions (slider) or trigger Clk with a pattern. So it now comes a bit closer to a Mimeophon."
