"CS40M is 44 keys, highest note/lowest note priority duophonic. It has a luxurious construction with two VCOs per sound, and one each of VCF, VCF-EG, VCA, and VCA-EG. You can also enjoy playing harmony phrases and bass lines/melody lines. Control parameters are 50, the highest in the CS series. Digital memory for up to 20 setting patterns for most parameters, excluding play-only effects. The external stock uses a cassette interface method. In addition to the standard effects, it is equipped with a wealth of special functions such as an LFO trigger SW that can create repeat play signals, and an EG-VCO SW for the LFO and ring modulator sections."

This one does need work.

Kaivo Noise Module Overview

video upload by Madrona Labs

"Overview of Kaivo's Noise Module

Kaivo is a software instrument combining two powerful synthesis techniques (physical modeling and granular synthesis) in an easy-to-use semi-modular package. It’s laid out a bit like an acoustic instrument; the GRANULATOR module acts like the player’s touch, exciting one or more tuned objects (here, the RESONATOR module, based on physical models of resonant objects) that come together in a central resonating body (the BODY module, also physics-based).

Mariana - The Moog That Never Was

video upload by Starsky Carr

"Deep Dive ('sea' what I did there ... twice!) into the Mariana from Moog. It's like a synth that should've, but never existed. It feels like an emulation of a real synth rather than a brand new soft synth... because of some strange design choices and limitations. Odd, but rather compelling.

It's fun with Moogerfooger plugins as well."

UVI HX-20 - Overview

"Introducing the new 'HX' series, HX-20 provides a powerful hybrid architecture combining 3 hardware-based wavetable and sample oscillators with physically-modeled filters to deliver a versatile and creative re-imagining of an esteemed classic."

via UVI

HX-20 is based on one of the most recognizable and well-loved analog monosynths around, known for its versatile semi-modular architecture, iconic front panel design, and starred musical history. Launched in the late '70s, this small two-oscillator monosynth has a lot to offer, and continues to be an inspirational studio compadre for artists around the world.

More Than The Sum
The success of this synth wasn't due to any single design consideration, instead it benefits from its combination of great features, fantastic sound, and compelling value. From the rich analog oscillators to its versatile filter section, to being both semi-modular - capable of integrating with external inputs and larger systems, to being relatively light and portable, there is simply a lot to love.

A Dynamic Duo
HX-20 is the debut release of UVI's new HX Series - leveraging our deep history in hardware sampling and physical modeling to create flexible, modern instruments with an unmistakable hardware soul, thanks in part to a novel hybrid approach combining hardware samples and wavetables, with physically-modeled filters. With its own unique hybrid sensibilities, we thought this was the perfect instrument to kick things off with.

Hybrid-X Engine
HX-20 is similar to many of our vintage instruments in that you get a deep sampling of the hardware, but it excels in two important ways; the addition of two new layers of hardware-based wavetables, and physically-modeled filters - giving you three sample layers in total to configure, all with the analog charm you know and love. Like our chosen hardware, this unique combination of features creates a powerful and compelling sonic tool with incredible character.

Hardware Sound, Exemplified
The new sample-based wavetable oscillators in HX-20 give you entirely new dimensions with which to explore. Capturing the hardware in its full range, you have greater flexibility and nuance over the raw instrument sound than ever before. The best part, you still get our top-tier sample layers, with hand-crafted sounds lovingly designed here at UVI.

"The great chipsynth C64 launch demo from 4mat!
Running on an ACTUAL PAL C64 and captured using a RetroTINK 2X-Pro and generic HDMI capture for video. Audio was captured using our reference M-Audio M-Track then manually resynched.

Code and Music: 4Mat
Graphics and concept: 4Mat and Plogue.
The actauly binary is shipped with the product, but should (and can) be spread outside no worry!
Enjoy!"

"The new reference for SID emulation

FASTLOAD chipsynth C64 into your music software and RUN the biggest, baddest sound of the 8-bit generation!

Put a tantalizing cascade of thick pulse width modulation, smashing digital drums, soaring arpeggios, and unidentifiable twerky groaning warbly dins under your giddy fingertips.

Skip over the need for obscure tools full of big columns of hexadecimal numbers, and instead load up your favorite music software with the easiest way to get the C64 sound. A vast preset library will fill your heart with an infinite tessellation of big tones that twist and turn and tumble.

Want to make patches with deep, unusual modulations hitting any parameter you can think of? Perhaps you want to modulate pulse width at audio rate? Do it all using our intuitive chipsynth graphical modulation system, which lets you do all of this without needing an engineering degree and easily join the culture of extremely animated sounds found in SID music!

CHIPSYNTH C64

Plogue chipsynth C64 brings forward the deepest SID sound chip emulation ever. The fruit of years of laborious research, it bears our legendary desire for emulation perfection. Real chips in the field vary wildly in sound - every slight deviation in silicon composition radically changes the character of the filter - and we went all out on capturing this.

We reproduced no less than 32 different SID chips in excruciating detail, covering the full rainbow spectrum of SIDs: every revision of 6581 and 8580 from R1 to R5, every tone from warm to bright to clean to distorted and gnarly.

This is a full, REAL emulator that can actually play original songs natively and accurately, with a full-featured SID file player capable of playing even exotic songs with multiple-SID setups, sample playback and hard filter overdrive.

They said it was all bleep bloops. But it's GOOD bleep and bloops! And we couldn’t be happier. And, as always, no samples are used, it's all true emulation!"

12/5/23 (300, 500, 1000 lullaby) Northeast Electronics Corp. TTS-4ANH & 4XDV + Peavey DDL-3

video upload by Cfpp0

"A lullaby, a duet! Three selectable frequencies (300cps, 500cps, 1000kc) on the NEC TTS-4ANH are alternated with the send freq switch, and fed into the Peavey DDL-3 digital delay pedal to overlap and sustain. No reverb is used so that the odd character of the NEC TTS-4ANH can be heard, but the highs and mids are boosted on the little Mackie Mix8 to bring out the distortion, harmonics, and switch clicks. Shot in the last few minutes of daylight."
