"Is the First VCA-CV controller + sequencer in the series, assuming a combination of a driftbox S / R synthesizer and an external device such as a sequencer. Two large joysticks control the CV output on the X axis with VCA on the Y axis. Although oscillator is not installed in driftbox J itself, by inputting audio and CV / GATE / MIDI signal from the outside, it is possible to change the level and pan without changing the audio signal groove, output the processed CV It is possible to manipulate parameters of other synthesizers.
It corresponds to synchronization by CV or MIDI as master / slave, and in manual / loop mode it can record movement of two joysticks in real time with built-in 16 step sequencer. You can also use the step mode to input stick motion for each step.

Also, real-time operation with programmed VCA and joystick can be output at the same time. By integrating programs and manual operations, sequence changes and expressions that do not predict live performance etc. are created. You can also combine multiple driftboxes J to create more complex and radical movements

2 Joystick VCA controller

XY dual CV controller
2 C manual CV output control and attenuation
2 channel programmable CV sequence output
16 steps · Program memory

Schtang & Aengus - Alluvium Part 1 (Ambient Jam) feat. Octatrack mkii, Sub37, E2, Microkorg, VKeys

Published on Jan 18, 2018 Schtang

Part 2 below.

"Schtang & Aengus return for another live studio hardware jam. Changed direction and worked this introspective ambient jam with some rainforest flavours. This is part 1 of 2 installments, with the second taking on a more percussive and driving feel.
This is a slightly developed studio jam and shows us experimenting with soundscapes before progressing it into a solid piece in the second installment. Still discovering our synergy together and working at using instruments and effects that complement our playing style and taste.

Studio Talk:
The Microkorg offers the central melodic pad and some intermittent bass sounds gluing the composition together. It is being processed by the TC Electronic M300 multi effects unit to give it some more space and eloquence in the mix.
The Elektron Octatrack MKII sets the mood with some rainforest soundscapes and acts as an effects unit for the Moog Sub37
The Moog Sub37 provides a surreal arp which intermingles with the other sounds and creates the rhythmic driving element.
The Electribe 2 is the central hub and acts as the midi clock while also sequencing and processing the Korg Volca Keys.
Everything runs back into the Mackie VLZ4 2404 and all mixing was done via the console"

Schtang & Aengus - Alluvium Part 2 (Percussive Jam) ft. Octatrack mkii, E2, TR08, Sub37, Microkorg)

Published on Jan 18, 2018 Schtang

"The second installment of Alluvium by Schtang and Aengus. Picking things up from the ambience of Part 1 and developing it into a more refined and rhythmic performance.

Very excited at our progress and we will continue to post our music whether it's well crafted or not. Keen to hear how you think of our progress!

Studio yarn:
The TR-08 is the driving percussive element of the tune with its signature kicks and hats driving the progression and mood.
The Korg Microkorg adds some warmth with wide, luscious pads.
The Electribe 2 provides some backup percussive elements and sequences and processes the dark tones from the Volca Keys.
The Octatrack sets the mood for the piece with some atmospheric percussion and forest ambience.
The Sub37 provides the panning growling bass patch which shuffles in and out of the piece."

Gotharman PolySpaze Slowly Riding the Waves

Published on Jan 17, 2018 Wein Glas

"This is not an usual Weinglas video/track because it almost is harmonic and melodic ;-)

It is my first Encounter with the New Gotharman PolySpaze 4 Voice Synthesizer/Sampler with Analog Filters! For this Track I used 64 Single Cycle Waves as a Wavetable.

All you hear is live played in one take. No sequencers, no overdubs, no editing."

Details on BugBrand's new Chirper Semi-Modular Mini Synth

You might remember the video of Chirper posted here. Full details are now in:

"Chirper is a semi-modular arrangement of two oscillators and one filter - a simple setup which belies the rich sonic surprises contained within. It is a direct continuation of Molnet, which itself was something of a reaction to my long-evolving Weevil works - after 10+ years I was feeling the call for new pastures and, while I enjoyed their deep electronic ecosystems, the lo-fi Weevil circuitry was never suitable for voltage-controlled work. The solution was to tweak ideas I'd been using in the SynthVoice, slightly simplifying some circuits to bring about an instrument with enticing layout and a fine balance of limitation vs. possibility.

Have a look at the Block Diagram above to see how Chirper is put together:

- the two Voltage-Controlled Oscillators are identical, with wide range (approx 0.15Hz to 100kHz) and sweepable from Triangle to Square.

- each oscillator has a Sync input along with Internal (from the other oscillator) and External (1V/Oct) Modulation controls. Things go nutty when the oscillators cross-modulate each other!

- the Voltage-Controlled Filter, with resonance up to self-oscillation and sweepable from Low-pass to High-pass, is fed audio from the 1st Oscillator (via Drive control) and is modulated by the 2nd Oscillator and/or an External (1V/Oct) source.

Of course, there is no internal VCA, so do be prepared for drones! [complimentary modules are in the pipeline] Note also that the 1V/Oct responses of the Oscillators and Filter are only quite accurate - fine for good tracking over a few octaves - and does not feature temperature compensation. Chirper was designed more as a surprise box than a well-pitched synth, but I saw it as a bonus to add simple 1V/Oct response.

4mm banana sockets are used for all I/O other than the Main Output which is 1/4" Mono Impedance Balanced. The Instruction Sheet has details of interfacing with banana cables.

Interface and/or banana cables are available.

Chirper is typically supplied in Standalone form as shown - enclosed in a custom aluminium case with PCB material front and side panels, dimensions approx 5.25" x 7.5" x 3.5", and with internal DCDC converter. Power - 12V DC 300mA supply, centre-positive, 2.1mm connector - worldwide 90-240VAC wall-wart provided with interchangeable mains plug adaptors.

Price: £320 (+VAT in EU -> £384) + Shipping

Chirper can also be supplied as a module to fit into larger BugBrand systems using Powered Frames - make contact direct.

The module draws approx 55mA per side.

Module Price: £280 + VAT + Shipping."
