Carbon111 has a new album out titled "Shadow." You can find more info including a few tracks and the synths used for each on
Carbon111's blog. Really beautiful music.
Update:
http://cdbaby.com/cd/carbon1112Synths include the Clavia Nord Wave, Nord Modular, and Stage, the Roland Juno-60, SCI Six-Track, the Korg Oasys, DSI Prophet'08 and Native Instruments' Massive and Absynth 4.
An interesting side note is that is was mastered by George Mattson of
http://mattsonminimodular.com/.
Note the credits.

Carbon11 also hosts
http://carbon111.com/, an excellent synth resource including some of the most extensive pages on the Serge modular as well as the Waldorf XT. Do check out the site for more.
Congratulations, James! I'll be picking this up, soon...
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThe CD Baby page will be up soon - I'll do a post on Synthwire when it is. I'll include a complete gearlist-per-track in that post as well. :)
...surely its meant to say Serge was used in this too? Or is it Nord Modular?
ReplyDeletelater,

..
No Serge was used in Shadow. I have a number of pieces that are all-Serge that will go on their own album later this year...the music is very different than the kind of music on Shadow. For those who love algorhythmic as well as modular weirdness, I'm re-releasing Touch...I'll post on Synthwire when its available.
ReplyDeleteAhh, I see.... I didn't know you had the Nord modular. Nice tracks!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteI also recently got an MMM modular that will get used a lot on upcoming tracks.
Still recovering from everything required to get the CD out...
On the "Serge front", I just added a TKB to my setup so I'll be grappling with absorbing it as well. :)
