Afrorack added a midi port to a printer (In honour of Dave Smith)
video upload by Afrorack
"Dave Smith is referred to as the 'Father of MIDI'. Of course many of you already knew him as the founder of Sequential circuits and maker of the Prophet 5 synth.

Afrorack: Sound samples from the filter etched on a PCB (Very percussive)
video upload by Afrorack
"From the my last video that I uploaded, I was not able to show the filter from the PCB that I etched working. That is because 2 legs of one of the transistors were touching. More specifically their pads on the PCB. Anyways, I sorted that out and now the filter is working. The original filter from Yusynth is here if you want to check it out http://yusynth.net/Modular/EN/STEINER..." [mentioned in this recent post on Nyle Steiner]
I etched my first PCB! Well almost
video upload by Afrorack
"I am always excited to learn something new. This is a skill i've always wanted to learn since I build my circuits on perfboard. It didn't come out perfect but non the less I salvaged the circuit in other ways. If you have pointers on how to make better transfers leave a comment below."

Afrorack made a CV/GATE synth module from a weighing scale
video upload by Afrorack
"Initially I thought this project would end up as an electronic drum pad. But along the way it turned into a Weighing scale to Cv and Gate module. If you want to listen to the full track, its available on Bandcamp https://afrorack1.bandcamp.com/edit_t..."

Making a MIDI to CV converter/At Africa's longest River!
video upload by Afrorack
"Midi to CV converters don't have to be expensive. You can make one for your modular synth for the cost of 5 dollars and a weekend if you have the time. Here I share my ideas. They are not perfect but they work! I also share a link to the Arduino code that I wrote. Again not perfect but should give you a general idea. Plus enjoy the sights of the River Nile in the background.

African percussions for modular synth/Arduino Mozzi Library
video upload by Afrorack
"The Mozzi library opens up many possibilities for cheap DIY modules like Complex Wave table VCO'S, Samplers, Filters and complete synthesizer projects. It's one of those discoveries I wonder why I didn't know about it. If you are interested in the code for arduino, let me know

How to make cheap modular synth modules-MS20 filter
video upload by Afrorack
"For a while I've been wanting to make an MS20 filter and I decided to show the process. Never had money to buy modules that are 300 dollars or so! Its based on the schematic by Rene Schmitz but I use the LM13700 and its internal buffers. The sounds in the background track are all running through the finished filter.

Improvised Techno on "AFRORACK" DIY Modular Synth
Published on Mar 11, 2019 TheDIYer
"Finally got a name for my modular synth. Its the 'AFRORACK' since everyone else plays the 'EURORACK'. Since the last video I added a ladder filter, a sequential switch and a logic module which creates interesting percussions. Ive also made my modular synth more portable by enclosing all power connections within the cabinets unlike in the previous video so set up and moving around is much easier. I also played my first gig for people. Was nervous at first since I dint do any sound check but it turned out well."

Africa's first Home made Modular Synth
Published on Jan 14, 2019 TheDIYer
"A few months ago I dipped my feet into the world of modular synths. The entire African continent has only one shop selling Euro rack modules which is really sad. Also, Euro rack modules are overly priced for someone in my context. My only option was to go the DIY route. I looked up schematics and started modifying some circuits and building others from scratch. All parts in my modular were sourced locally. In a few months I have learnt so much about electronics and analog synths and I have built what is an almost decent modular synth. I believe this is Africa's first home made modular synth. I hope this video inspires someone out there to build their own synth." www.bamanyabrian.com
