V.A.I. 65 : CRB Computerband 2000 / EKOSynth

video upload by Vintage Audio Institute Italia

"Another demonstration of the marvellous CRB Computerband 2000 - an auto-accompaniment machine with 4 sections made by organ manufacturer CRB in the Marche region of Italy.
This time we paired it with the EkoSynth, a quite rare monophonic preset synth from the mid 1970s made by Italian guitar and amp manufacturer EKO. This is a unique sounding synth compared to many other Italian monophonics of the era, the filter is special, really not bad, so you can get a lot of different sounds out of this machine."

The First Modern Drum Machine | Eko Computerhythm

video upload by HAINBACH

"The Eko Computerhythm from 1972 was so ahead of its time that it found almost more fame as a prop in Italian Sci-Fi movies than as an instrument. In a time when a drum machine was all corny preset rhythms, the Eko featured 16 step programming, time division, mixing, individual outs and a punch card memory. Only 15 are known to exist today and it is frequently rated as one of the rarest and most expensive drum machine.

In this video you will find information on its history, its makers and hear it in all its glory.

"Rare analog synth pedal bass from the 70s.
2 octaves sound (16 + 8) that can be combined with a choice of 2 different sound, string and reed (ie waveforms, one is a triangle the other a sawtooth) and adjustable sustain.
You also get a second sound, Percussion, that can be combined or use individually. This one is not affected by the sustain.

Unit is in very good condition with only a few scratches. Works flawlessly. Very nice built, the pedal are actual wood and not plastic."

A quickie with the Gerd Schulte Compact Phasing

video by Vintage Audio Institute Italia

"We had this hooked up and made a quick spontaneous video.
It's not always easy to dial in the sound you're looking for - if that's your thing - but you can sure get a lot of different sounds out of this pedal.
The machine generating bass and chords is a special little animal, more videos of that to come."

Rare 1982 EKO Synthesizer Bass Foot Pedal K1 Model 4101 Analog Bass Synth SN 1488

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The EKO K1 pedal offers 2 octaves of fantastic sounds. You can add Reed-String, Sustain and Percussion with the according footswitch. In addition, the bass pedal offers controls for tunig, volume and sustain.

Everything can be adjusted with the foot. It is a very stable built pedal.

Here the functions in detail:

Bass 8’
A very deep, soft sound that really shakes the room.

Bass 4’
The same effect as bass 8’, but one octave higher.

Percussion
A great sound that has a strong attacking part and sounds
very similar to a bass guitar

Sustain
The sound fades away depending on the sustain control setting

String-Reed
A "string portion" is added to the sound

And important: All sounds can be played in combination ! That’s make it pretty interesting.

The EKO K1 is in excellent and clean condition and works 100%."

VAI 24 : Farfisa Syntorchestra 4 / EKO Rhythmaker

video by Vintage Audio Institute Italia

"Another sad space ballad - this time performed on the poly/mono machine Farfisa Syntorchestra 4 (what happened to 2 and 3?!) and analog drum machine Eko Rhythmaker - simple but lovely machines - both extremely Italian :)

Vintage Audio Institute is a studio and vintage gear shop, we make these videos just for fun in between tasks, we're not professional keyboard players so please have patience with the sloppy finger work."

Vai 32 : Solina String Ensemble, Binson Echorec B1s, Welson Syntex and Eko Rhythmaker

"Pretty self-explanatory but the Solina String Ensemble is going through the Schulte Compact Phasing and Binson Pre-Mixer and Echorec B1s, the Eko Rhythmaker is going through the Binson as well for tube saturation purposes.

The Welson Syntex is an Italian synth from the mid 70s, a great dual oscillator, analog, monophonic synthesizer with white and pink (!) noise, four footages per oscillator and lots of modulation capabilities.
That Moog ladder filter is on board as well, together with all the footages engaged it can really sound huge and sometimes terrifying.

We make these videos as a showcase for our studio and for curious vintage heads - and for fun.

We don't dilly-dally too much with production and mixing but it can sound pretty good with headphones on."
