MC-2oh2 is an upgrade and feature extension for the Roland MC-202 synthesizer / composer.

It replaces the original CPU, keyboard PCB and display of an MC-202.

MC-2oh2 introduces a completely new control scheme for MC-202 synthesizers.

The sound however stays the same and many additional features are added.

Also compatible with the ‘DIN-SYNC RE-202’ project

Features

Optimized for live performance, turns your 202 into a ‘groove box’.

Three completely independent synthesizer control channels:

The internal synth, the 2nd CV/gate output and a 3rd MIDI out or DRUM channel. Each channel has its own clock divider and MIDI input and output.

Can be clocked via MIDI, DIN-sync or trigger using the TAPE-input

Versatile sequencer with 32 patterns, chainable in song mode, edit patterns and songs while playing, shortcuts for quick live arrangement. Seven sequencer play directions.

Sequence editor with copy, paste, insert and delete options, can modify note pitch, length and note-modifiers on the fly

Arpeggiator with multiple octaves, seven direction modes including ‘order of key press’. Can inherit the ‘chemistry’ of existing sequences, optional euclidian mode and live shortcuts.

Additional modulations: Accent, Filter and PW envelopes

Additional noise sound with envelope.

8-bit LOFI drum sample output with various sound modifiers, sample packs can be uploaded via MIDI

Save and recall up to 8 sets containing sequencer and modulation parameters. No batteries needed

MIDI CC control of all additional parameters, filter cutoff, pulse width, clock dividers and more.

Midi velocity can be linked to various sound parameters.

Various CV-input modes including a ‘direct’ mode.

Optional HiRes version of MC-2oh2 allows pitch bend control and microtonal tunings.

High quality OLED display

Firmware update via MIDI sysex

"Modified Elka Wilgamat 3. DIY keyboard controller using Yamaha PSR-12 keys. Tubbutec uniPulse for MIDI clocking and drum triggering. Individual accompaniment sounds switched on and off from keyboard controller, accessible via DB25 to 1/4" breakout. Four octaves of square waves called "Synth" follow the bass lines. "Belltone Synth did the upgrades. This synth has a new power switch, power plug connector, all new oil filled sliders (I think they are P&G, they are not the regular replacements sliders. They are silky smooth), new felt, and the Tubbutec MIDI conversion with upgraded MIDI connectors (that also match better).

Before it went to Belltone Synth I disassembled the entire synth and cleaned with soap and water every key and rinsed clean all the rubber contact strips as well. They then did upgrades and ran diagnostics.

"The Juno-60 features six voice polyphony and patch memory storage. The predecessor to the Juno 106 and arguably the more punchy sounding of the two synths, the Juno-60 utilizes mostly traditional analog technology yet with digitally controlled analog oscillators, ensuring excellent tuning stability for stage use. It offers on-board chorus effects, low-pass and high-pass filters, and the option to arpeggiate and sequence notes when connected with the JSQ-60 sequencer. It's simply incredibly difficult for the Juno-60 to sound anything other than fat and musical.

All key caps are bright white and level, all buttons and slider caps are intact, and the silkscreen graphics on the face of the synth are stunningly clean. There is some very minor wear on the wooden sides framing the Juno-60, and some light scuffing on the bottom of the enclosure.

The MD-8 is equally as clean as the synth, complete with DCB patch cable, and the Juno-66 upgrade kit is brand new."

"Tobias from Tubbutec presented us with some real goodies today.

Firstly, we got to see the prototype of the Roland MC-202 firmware and display replacement. Those of us who have programmed the sequencer on the 202 know that it's, well, a little trying, but Tubbutec have given the 202 a new sequencer with more patterns, chains, and song mode, and there are even new envelopes, LFOs and arpeggiators, all working in harmony with the original 202 synth engine.

6m0d6 is based on the Roland TR-606 and indeed can sound like one, but is capable of a wide range of sounds outside the scope of the original.

Roland Juno-6 (with Juno-66 Tubbutec mod) VCF audio rate modulation by Moog Matriarch

"My friends and I lamented the fact that my Juno-6 Juno-66 mod was not entirely completed, in that it does not have access to the LFO shape functions. One of my friends suggested sending the S/H OUT from the Matriarch into the VCF input in the Juno-6. So... I did, and then switched it to WAVE output and... well, this is the result of that.

The Matriarch LFO goes into audio rates and it brings the Juno-6 into new territory. Not only can I access S/H LFOs, but audio rate manipulation. I can also sync the LFO manipulation if I use the Arpeggio sync input in the back of the Juno.

At some points I do utilize the Tubbutec mod with its power arp (i.e., sequencer). Also, the voices are all slightly detuned. Enjoy the noodling.
