EMS 16 Channel Matrix Vocoder w/ Filter Bank Patch Matrix?

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"EMS unit with many features like double oscillator, pitch shifter, levels on every bands...etc... great sounds"

Update: Looks more like a Synton Syntovox 221 as seen in previous posts including demos, but note the different layout. I don't beleive I've seen this particular model before. If anyone knows what this is feel free to leave a comment.

Update 2 via the comments:

"I am assured by EMS that this is NOT an EMS build. After I complained to reverb the seller changed the description and calls it a "custom projekt". It is built around an EMS 2000, so good luck if it ever needs a service or repair. The seller still has it branded as EMS even though it is a codged together unit and NOT EMS. You can't put a Ferrari engine in a ford and sell it as a Ferrari, can you?"

And via the listing:

"this a rare opportunity to obtain a classic EMS sounds

and add many features like double oscillator, pitch shifter, levels on every bands... more a classic pin matrix.... this is a custom projekt based around an original EMS 2000 vocoder pcb board"

Note the custom faceplate. The original EMS 2000 is completely different. You can find some pics in additional posts mentioning the EMS 2000 Vocoder here.

ARPchives LIVE Special Birthday Edition "In His Words"

video upload by Alan R. Pearlman Foundation

Features the ARP 2600 assembly line. Note the Blue Marvin / Blue Meanie.

"(NOTE: These videos are for historical preservation and EDUCATIONAL purposes only. )

We are very excited to release 'The Lost ARP Tapes,' recently discovered footage that had been buried in decades worth of television. Join us Tuesday, June 7th on our YouTube channel to watch them live and celebrate Alan Pearlman’s birthday.

We will be having several releases. featuring footage from the 1970s of demos, two different ARP factories, Alan R. Pearlman, Phil Dodds, David Friend, David Frederick, and Tom Piggot! Not seen in 45+ years!

Included in these sessions will be other rare footage of Alan R. Pearlman speaking in later years (not in any other documentary) as well as contemporary interviews with ARP employees"

And via Dina Pearlman in the ARP Foundation mailing list:

Today is my father's birthday

Alan R. Pearlman would have been 97 today! Because he was born in 1925, he remembered the George Washington Bridge being built, the Great Depression, was a World War II vet.. he worked on the early NASA projects, saw the first person on the moon. And he built one of the most famous synthesizers in the world.

With celebrating my father's birthday we also recognize our future—the kids who love their STEM classes, the musicians who have aspirations to make music, or the filmmakers who wish to make soundtracks.

This summer we are trying to raise a minimum of $15,000 for the following projects:

ARPs for ALL - insurance, restoration and repair of instruments

ARPchives including scanning, digitizing and licensing rights to rare photos. See also: Google's Music Makers and Machines!

Our first residency at ARPs for ALL (estimated $10,000 for housing, transportation and engineering assistance) Grantwriter(s)

We will also be holding our Fall Synthposium and Fundraiser 2022: A Fifty Year ARP Odyssey!

READ the Synthposium Press Release

We hope you will consider making a tax deductible donation to The Alan R Pearlman Foundation

My father was a mentor. In his tradition, The Alan R. Pearlman Foundation is dedicated to preserving his legacy to inspire others, and to provide them with the tools to do so with our ARPs for ALL projects as well as our ARPchives that include Hot off the Press!

This year we have located some lost ARP tapes premiering on YouTube later today [above] (more coming later this summer) We have also located some rare photographs, but we have to purchase them, so this is part of our goals for this latest fundraiser.

The Buchla Music Easel II from 2006

The 2006 Buchla Music Easel II that never was.

Today is Don Buchla's birthday. He was born on April 17, 1937, which would have made him 85. He passed away five years ago on September 14, 2016.

via @shastacults

"I was planning to save this until i got some more info from the parties directly involved but the Behringer announcement yesterday [posted here] kinda inspired me to just drop this one...

Years ago I sat down with Don to discuss ideas for a new 200e keyboard.. I mentioned that the system needed one, that it was his signature and completed the system... we discussed the merits of capacitance touch plates vs membrane before Don finally settled on membrane (I was pro capacitance). Before I got up I suggested a new Easel would really be the ideal way for people to experience his ideas without being sucked into the modular vortex.

Later while recovering from illness Don began design of the next instrument, one which went though the paces only to be shelved and never seen again.. instead we got low quality reproductions of a 40 year old design (the BEMI Easel) that were rushed into production to beat the inevitable DIY clone which was not so secretly being developed.

Let there be no mistake, Don was not happy about the 208e but slodged through it, making circuit and physical changes against the wishes of his new bosses who wanted an exact copy, something I don't think Don was capable of.. or just didn't want to do cause they told him to, both are possible.
here is the new Easel design which could have been..

Model 209e Matrix Potpourri
Model 222e Multi Dimensional Kinesthetic Input Port
the 209e responded to the lightning rings and was programmed via the 222e keys acting as virtual sliders , 24 stage MARF, Dual Envelopes, Mod and Princ Osc, Morphing Filter, Dual LPG, Random, Programmability... etc

The LEDs animated and depicted offsets and modulation activity, something we got later on the 296e. #buchla"

The same here the Buchla Music Easel II was under consideration.

ARP SYNTHESIZER PROTOTYPE 16 Voice Electric Piano Keyboard

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

Additional Tone Tweakers Listings, also on Reverb

Pic of the inside and tradeshow image futher below. Note the ARP logo on front. Makes me wonder how many font styles they used. There's the classic ARP Tonus logo as seen in these ARP 2500 modules, the standard trebel clef, and the regular block font.

"First, a few words about price. This is a one-of-a-kind item that's a very interesting piece of ARP Synthesizer history. We have no idea what it's worth and would love to hear from anyone who's qualified to make such determinations. We’re listing it here in the hope that we’ll be able to determine its actual value and find a new home for it. If you want to pay our asking price, we'd be thrilled, but we’re open to much much more reasonable offers.

This is believed to be a prototype of the ARP 16 Voice Electronic Piano. It's the unit ARP showed off at trade shows. We have another that is believed to be the first prototype that we will possibly list later. But back to this one... It’s built into a black wooden cabinet made to look like a proper piano. It was stored in its road case in a barn for many years and smells musty. There is evidence of mildew or mold on the top cover. This unit is currently in its original crate in storage. It’s too big and heavy for us to move around without risking injury (which we won't do). The photos shown here were taken by the person we got it from, before transporting it to one of our storage spaces.

This item is being offered untested and un-inspected and strictly as-is, with the understanding that whoever ends up with it will likely need to have it properly restored by a qualified professional, as one would want to do with just about any unmaintained vintage synths of its type and age these days. Although we have an amazing tech who can fix just about any vintage synth given enough time, there are no guarantees that this item can be restored or that it even worked to begin with, since the original owner passed away. It’s gone directly from storage space to storage space since he passed.

If we can find them, we will include the matching piano bench and sheet music stand shown in the trade show photo. We’re pretty sure we know where they are, but that storage space is unreachable at the moment.

Ancient trade show photo for reference (not included)."

"Rare monophonic analogue synth LX-520, by Nuova Elettronica, made in Italy, in very good conditions."

This appears to be the first one featured on the site. Nuova Elettronica was an Italian DIY electronic magazine publication. You can find a few pics below and a couple of other projects, one of which was another synth, in previous posts here.
