images via this auction

"JUNOST’ 21 - is a polyphonic synthesizer/strings. This synth has grip on the left side out of body, for use like a guitar. It has 4 octave keyboard starting from F till E (velocity sensitive). Control knobs on the grip - unison/chorus switch;- volume fader;- pitch bend fader;- octave switch;
Synthesis sections:
- TUNING zone: 2 X small screws for tuning ... no midi/etc and you must tune your oscs ...
- MODULATIONS zone: depth; frequency; delay; switch between filter/oscillator (this is lfo which can modulate either filter or osc ... all the basic params of lfo)
- FILTER zone: range; brightness; depth;
- ENVELOPE zone: attack; decay; level;
- PRESET zone (this synth has some presets, but presets can be turned on or off ... when on - you get a preset sound, when off - make your own):* 3 bank buttons (there are three banks - 1, 2 and 3);* 4 preset buttons (3 banks of 4 sounds in each);* preset off button (when you press any bank/preset buttons - presets turn on ...then you must press off - well, to get them off);* keyb control knob;* screen - 2 digi/number led - showing bank/preset as well as small 'commas'indicating if preset is turned off and if keyb contrl is turned off;- on/off switch;
- CONNECTIONS... this one has just 2 X 5din connectors ... one is output, the other is ac in ... shouldn't it have some kind of batteries inside ..."

Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene Live Review

Check out the full review by mik300z at the forum.

"And just for us synth heads, there was a cs80 in his setup which he only used for a "thunder" like sound, the very same one Vangels uses in "Himalaya" from the china album. That along with a jupiter 8, ARP 2500, minimoog, some modular synths I don't know the name of, and all the other gear it was worth every penny of the ticket price just to see them!"

DIY FS3M18 Noise Generator / Filter / Synth

"The FS3M18 consists out of 3 modules that can be patched together in any way imaginable. These modules are a Digital Delay (DD) a Graphic Equalizer (GEQ) and a Distortion modeller (DM).

For example you can patch the DM to the GEQ and The GEQ to the DD.
This is the basic patch using all the modules.

When patched in a feedback loop you can still use the FS3M18 as a filter for external sounds."

Ray Wilson Interview on Synthbeat.com

"On his site www.musicfromouterspace.com, Ray Wilson provides schematics and other "how to" info for the "do it yourself" creation of synthesizers. With designs for everything from basic VCO oscillator modules to a variety of synths, Wilson is eager to share his love of electronic music with others. In January, I had the privilege of asking him a few questions."

Make Noise ModDemod

"LIMITED EDITION of 20

This is an ancient telecommunications switching circuit originally used for something called Single Side Band Modulation. Basically a way to put a bunch of lines within limited bandwidth... Harold Bode (and perhaps others) reclaimed this technology for artistic purposes in the early 1960's, and Bob Moog (in collaboration with Bode) incorporated it into his Modular Synthesizer Systems in the 70's. By then they were calling it a "Ring Modulator" and the circuit had been signifigantly changed.

The modDemod features the original circuit, bare as can be, times 2 so that your audio source material may be "MODDED" and then "DEMODDED." This is exactly how the circuit was originally used... a telecommunication would be modulated, at which point it would be fairly unintelligable, and then on the receiveing end it would be demodulated. As you can imagine, some cool distortions happen on account of the inadequacies of this technology.

I hyper-matched over 350 diodes to get the sets needed to complete this LIMITED run of 20 pieces. Nontheless, there is still CARRIER bleed.

The front panel art work is a tribute to the origins of this wonderful circuit, executed with etched copper, gold plating and white ink on a flat black PCB.

This module is 4HP wide and consumes NO current. The price is $126.
Now Available."

"Friends: here's the link to a YouTube playlist of my 200e/Haken Continuum performance at Tranzducer on November 30, 2007. The original performance was continuous, but I had to edit it down to three sections to get around YouTube's 10-minute limit and some camera recording glitches. It's camera audio only, so not the best quality, but otherwise it's a reasonable document of the performance that night. I hope you enjoy it."
