Shakmat Announces Four New Modules at SUPERBOOTH22

Belgium-based eurorack company Shakmat, known for their performance-oriented modules, are announcing four new modules for this Superbooth 22. Pretty known for their hands on sequencers and sound processors, Shakmat now focuses on synthesis with a set of 3 analog modules and a compact triple envelope.

Banshee Reach

This 8HP module is not really a new one as we teased it in September in Berlin under the name Banshee Set. After passionate feedbacks and beta testers comments, the UI was completely redesigned in order to propose a compact, versatile and live oriented analog VCO. Besides a series of features already announced last year (varishape, sub generator and thru-zero modulation), the new version has an octaver function which freezes the fine knob and turns the coarse knob into an octave switch covering 9 octaves. Never detune your VCO by turning that tune knob by accident again!

New Shakmat SumDif Eurorack Module

"A quick tour of the Shakmat SumDif 2hp module."

"SumDif is a dual adder/differentiator module capable of handling both CV and audio signals. If you send a 3V signal at the A input and a 1V signal at the B input, then the A+B will output 4V while A-B will output 2V. Numerous applications, like unity mixing, buffering and inverting, can be achieved; you can also experiment with Mid/Side audio processing ! The SumDif has a precision signal path and can process V/oct signals perfectly. The two jumpers on the back side allow to reduce the A+B and A-B outputs gain by 6dB.

• Dual 2 inputs adder/differentiator for CV or audio (For example if the first input is 3v and the second output is 1v, sum output provides 4v and dif output 2v)

• Each section can be used as as a 2:1 unity mixer, a 1:2 buffered multiple or a signal inverter.

Shakmat announces 6 new modules at Superbooth ‘19

Shakmat announces 6 new modules at Superbooth ‘19 including three 1U/Tile utilies for imminent release

Shakmat will be presenting six new modules at the annual modular synthesizer fair known as Superbooth. The 6 new products include three 1U/ Tile format modules, two quadraphonic modules and a clever modulation/scene programmer.
Quadraphonic solutions

The Aeolus Seeds is dedicated to quadraphonic modulation and vector synthesis. Having a fully analog signal path through four VCAs driven by a handy quad digital modulation source, this module is able to easily create automatic movements in quadraphonic space thanks to a very simple interface. Additional features include an assignable CV output (which can deliver the distance from the center, the angle of the modulation and so on...) and an audio sum output turning the Aeolus Seeds into an animated vector synthesis tool.

The Aeolus Mixer is an useful unity quadraphonic mixer allowing to sum up to three quadraphonic sources and two stereo sources in 6 hp. The module has additional outputs for 5.1 compatibility!

The Harlequin makes a scene

The Harlequin's Context brings an innovative approach to presetting, sequencing and modulation. Four channels of any modulation type (offset, envelope, lfo or random) can be stored in scenes and then manually recalled, addressed by CV, sequenced and even morphed. Useful for presetting, and very creative for unique modulation designs, the Harlequin's is a versatile tool for live musicians and studio nerds.
New 1U product line

New modules also include 1U format utility modules. Released as 1U Intellijel format, those modules are Tiles / Pulp Logic compatible – thanks to alternative panels sold separatly and 2 power connectors (classic 5 x 2 pin euro, 3 pin Pulp Logic style).The Shakmat 1U line, compact and utilitarian, includes :

• Tessitura Tailor : a 10hp octave switch allowing transposing from -2 to +2 octaves

• Time Apprentice : two clock dividers with adjustable division perfect to clock / reset sequencers for example.

• Dual VCA : two high end THAT Corp. exponential VCAs packed in 8hp

"Hi

this is the demo of a homemade module made with an Arduino Uno and a mcp4922 chip. This module is a dual stepped CV gate recorder, that s to say a kind of weird ASR.

First Knob allows to control your loop length (32 steps, 24 steps, 16, 12, 8, 6,4, 3, 2, 1). This function divides the loop in a certain number of segments (4 segment is the loop length is 8), the second knob allows you to choose the segment you are playing.

Switches are REC, A/B (you can record two different phrases and switch them), cut (the gate output 1 is hacked by the clock), open (put the gate output 1 to +5V - you can combine it with the cut fonction and the gate output 1 is now a copy of the clock input)."
