Arturia MicroFreak Jam – Ostinato mélancolique

video upload by alloutofsync

""Ostinato mélancolique" is a jam built on a drum sample loop and a repeating piano phrase, with improvisation played on the MicroFreak. I focused on the tension of semitone and whole-tone intervals, which not only evoke a melancholic atmosphere but also create a unique sense of modulation in the sound.

To keep the performance dynamic, I occasionally switched to single notes or octave lines for variation. Everything was recorded live in a single take, with only light reverb and delays applied in post-production."

ARTURIA MicroFreak #1 (with TC Electronic T2 Reverb)

video upload by alloutofsync

"A combination of MicroFreak arpeggiator and T2 reverb.

I finally started using the MicroFreak after letting it sit for exactly a month since it arrived. Skimming through the manual, it seems to have a variety of features. Since none of my other gear had an arpeggiator, I decided to start by playing around with it. By tweaking the analog filter and adding reverb with the T2, it creates a dreamy sound.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Thanks."

ARTURIA MicroFreak #2 (with PO-12 rhythm)

video upload by alloutofsync

"Learning how to sync with other gadgets.

I’m using the ARTURIA MicroFreak as the clock source and the PO-12 as the follower. The MicroFreak allows you to adjust the clock resolution, making it highly compatible with various gadgets. You can change the clock resolution from the utility menu.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Thanks."

Kastle 2 WAVE BARD Experimental jam #1 (with KORG monotron delay)

video upload by alloutofsync

"This is an experimental "harsh yet rhythmic" jam I started on a whim. I connected the Monotron Delay to the Wavebard’s in/out and used it like an external effect. The output is mono, but in post-processing I applied the following effect chain to create a stereo image.

Effect Chain Overview:
The signal first passes through Redux, which reduces the sample rate and bit depth slightly to add a subtle crushed texture.
Next, the sound is routed into an Audio Effect Rack where one chain applies Reverb and another keeps the signal direct. This creates a balance between the processed and dry sound.
The Reverb is set with a short predelay and moderate decay, shaping the reflections with input filters and adding some stereo width. A small amount of chorus is also applied within the reverb to make the stereo image wider and more spacious.
Finally, two instances of Utility are used. The first adjusts gain and ensures the stereo width is maintained while controlling the low end with mono-bass settings. The second provides additional level control and ensures that the bass frequencies remain centered in mono.

05:48 part 2
07:01 part 3
07:32 part 4
09:12 part 5
10:53 part 6
11:33 part 7
11:38 part 8"

Arturia MicroFreak Jam – "The Absurd Ninety Percent"

video upload by alloutofsync

"While designing a patch on the MicroFreak, I stumbled upon a strange sound — absurd in a good way — so I turned it into a jam. Now and then, it gives off a Steve Vai–like vibe (3:13-), which I love.

Starting from the init patch, pitch and timbre shift with LFO and pressure. The sequence was entered on a whim, following instinct more than logic.

The rhythm track comes from Ableton Live."

Arturia MicroFreak Arpeggiator Jam – Hypnotic Synth Loops

video upload by alloutofsync

"This jam was made with the Arturia MicroFreak using its arpeggiator, combined with glide, amp envelope, and filter settings.

It’s a simple performance, showing how these features can create hypnotic arpeggio patterns, as always in my jams — evolving textures with a familiar touch.

If you are exploring the MicroFreak, I hope this gives you some ideas for your own patches and jams."

Kastle 2 - WAVEBARD wearing the skin of a WIZARD.

video upload by alloutofsync

"WAVEBARD wearing the skin of a WIZARD.

From FAQ,

Q: What’s the difference between Kastle 2 Wave Bard and Kastle 2 FX Wizard? Can I use the Wave Bard firmware on FX Wizard?

A: Both devices are built upon the same Kastle 2 platform and they share the same internal hardware. They differ in the faceplate and manual. You can easily load Wave Bard firmware into FX Wizard and vice versa."
