One of my favorite tracks from the 80s.
When Doves Cry by Prince from the album Purple Rain (1984)
I used the 1010music bento with LM-1 samples and tuned the sound.
The bento works great as sample based drummachine for me.
And I used the Oberheim OB-Xa synthesizer for all synth sounds.
I played the guitar sample with the E-MU Emulator II."

Ever wonder what gave the Airwolf theme its undeniable power? That iconic 80s sound wasn't just magic; it was meticulously crafted. We're diving deep into the analog synthesizers that built that soaring, unforgettable score, pulling back the curtain on the very instruments that defined a generation's sci-fi adventure."

My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers."

One of my favorite synths in my vintage collection.
The Oberheim OB-Xa Analog Synthesizer from the year 1980
2 VCOs Saw and Pulse
VCO Sync and PWM
VCF 12/24 dB/Oct
8 voices
I have the Oberheim OB-X too and I played the OB-8 and the new OB-X8 in the studio.
All OB synths sounds different. The sound character is similar but not identical. The most powerful synth is the OB-X. The OB-Xa is perfect for pads sounds. More lush sound. The new X8 sounds more modern. All is a matter of taste.
