Korg Wavestate - "Aether" Soundset (40 Exclusive Performances)

video upload by LFOstore

"Step into the light. Aether is a collection of 40 exclusive performances for Korg Wavestate, woven from air, glass and morning sun. Imagine a luminous golden horizon, a sea of clouds drifting far below, crystal spheres floating weightlessly through an endless sky. This is the world these sounds were crafted to build around you.

At its heart are the pads: shimmering, slowly breathing, rising like first light over the clouds. They turn like light through a prism, drift like mist at dawn and bloom into soft harmonic halos. Around them, sequences and arpeggios sparkle in the spirit of the Berlin School and the golden age of 80s electronica, but on its bright side, where every pulse is a ray of sunlight rather than a shadow. Glass bells, silver plucks and tender leads complete the sky.

As a sound designer for Access Music, Native Instruments, and Modal Electronics, OttO K. Schwarz shaped every performance with one aim: sounds that feel weightless but never empty. Many performances are multi-layered, with evolving textures and melodic phrases that invite you to simply hold a chord and listen.

All presets are tuned for real-time expression: the modulation wheel and other assigned parameters open the sound like clouds parting, giving you intuitive control over several parameters at once. Whether you’re scoring a film, composing ambient or electronic music, guiding a meditation session or playing live, “Aether” offers a palette of sounds that are light, luminous and deeply musical.

Korg Conference: Innovation in Electronic Music Instruments | Live at smem

video upload by smem

"The Berlin-based Korg team came to smem in Fribourg for an exclusive conference with Korg to discuss the past, present, and future of synthesis. From their legendary analog heritage to the cutting-edge "Acoustic Synthesis" coming out of Korg Berlin, this session dives deep into what makes Korg a perennial innovator in the industry."

KORG Berlin phase8: first jam (full)

video upload by Freaky Tweaky

"My KORG Berlin Phase 8 finally arrived today!

It's quite sensitive to vibrations (almost as sensitive as a turntable), so I'm wondering if it would be difficult to use it directly in a club live performance. However, even just considering it for music production, I feel it's a special synthesizer. I really love it.

There's a real magic to the harmonic and pitch changes when you place small objects on it just right…

Next, I'm going to try playing it with a drum machine."

Korg multi/poly - "Berlin Legacy" (40 Performances)

video upload by LFOstore

"Echoes from the golden age of electronic music — reborn with one of the most versatile modern synths! "Berlin Legacy" is a deeply evocative collection of 40 exclusive performances crafted specifically for the Korg multi/poly. This soundset channels the hypnotic spirit of the Berlin School — pulsating sequences that drive like unstoppable rhythms of time, soaring leads that pierce the atmosphere, and vast, breathing pads that fill the sonic horizon with analog warmth and digital precision!

Drawing inspiration from the pioneering works of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze, these performances harness the Multi/poly's four-layer architecture, rich analog-modeled filters, powerful modulation matrix, and motion sequencing to deliver authentic retro-futurism with contemporary depth and playability.

A key advantage of this library: many sequences are designed as multi/split performances — the left hand triggers evolving, rhythmic sequences (classic Berlin-style arpeggios, driving basslines, or layered patterns), while the right hand plays expressive leads, melodic lines, or lush pads. This split/layer approach turns the multi/poly into a true performance powerhouse: one patch, two hands, infinite cosmic journeys.

All performances are heavily modulated — modulation wheel, velocity, 4 modulation knobs, and real-time controls add dynamic movement and expressiveness. From hypnotic, sequencer-driven grooves to ethereal, drifting soundscapes and cutting, melodic solos, "Berlin Legacy" bridges vintage analog soul with the Multi/poly's modern hybrid engine!

Korg Modwave - "Space Explorations" Soundset (40 Performances)

video upload by LFOstore

"'Space Explorations' is an immersive collection of 40 performances crafted exclusively for the Korg Modwave. This soundset channels the boundless mystery of deep space: vast, shimmering pads that drift like nebulae, evolving atmospheres pulsing with distant stars, hypnotic sequences orbiting like gravitational waves, soaring leads cutting through the vacuum, intricate ARPs twinkling like constellations, and ethereal keys echoing across light-years.

Harnessing Modwave's powerful wavetable engine, motion sequencing, and layering capabilities, every performance is designed for maximum expressiveness — most respond vividly to modulation wheel, velocity and real-time tweaks via the four modulation knobs. You'll find deeply modulated, evolving textures perfect for slow-building ambient journeys, Berlin School-inspired sequences, sci-fi film/TV scoring, meditative drones, retro-futuristic electronica, and live improvisations that feel like piloting a starship through uncharted galaxies.

Whether you're evoking the solitude of interstellar travel, the awe of a supernova, or the quiet hum of a black hole's event horizon, "Space Exploration" turns your Modwave into a personal observatory for sonic cosmos. These aren't just presets — they're portals to other worlds and extraordinary soundscapes. Created with passion for both vintage space-age vibes and Modwave's modern hybrid synthesis, this library invites you to explore the unknown and bring the universe into your music!

KORG Berlin Phase 8 | Acoustic Synthesis from First Touch to Full Jam

video upload by Noisegate

"We head to the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio for our first hands-on look at the KORG Berlin Phase 8, one of the most unusual instruments to land on the Noisegate desk in years.
Phase 8 is built around eight electromechanical voices, each physically striking a steel resonator or tine. Instead of traditional oscillators, sound is generated through real vibrating materials, then shaped with envelopes, modulation, sequencing, and analogue wavefolding. The result feels closer to playing a physical instrument than programming a synth.

In this video, we explore:
– How Phase 8 produces sound
– Sequencing, pluck, shift and performance controls
– Acoustic interaction using everyday objects
– Processing Phase 8 with external effects
– Integrating Phase 8 into a wider live jam setup

Hacking the Korg Phase8 to uncover NEW SOUNDS

video upload by Oscillator Sink

"The Korg Phase8 has been present in the collective synth-nerd consciousness for a few years, as Korg’s Berlin skunkworks department have slowly released details and demo’d prototypes, most notably at the last two Superbooth events. An iconic, mainstream synth manufacturer like Korg, exploring and experimenting with an entirely new concept in how synthesis can be used was an exciting prospect, and captured a lot of people’s imaginations - mine included.

I was lucky enough to find time to explore those prototypes at the previous two Superbooths, and even more lucky to have Korg approach me with a completed production model to make a video about.

The final model is an impressive physical instrument, with Korg Berlin’s industrial design chops on display, but I’m here mostly to talk about the sound and the functionality of the Phase 8, so in this video I’ll explore how it operates solo, how it can be integrated into a larger setup, try out some “extended techniques” and discuss where I feel the Phase 8 could be pushed further.

Transparency notice: Korg kindly sent over the Phase8 to make videos about. They haven't requested or been granted any oversight of the contents of the videos. I haven't otherwise been paid, but I do get to keep the unit shown in this video."
