KORG TRIDENT - a divine relevation - no talking

video upload by The Synth King

"I had a great time playing my Korg Trident MK2. I would like to share this moment with you in this video.

From wikipedia:
'The Korg Trident is a polyphonic multi-section synthesizer released by Korg in 1980, combining three distinct synthesizers within a single instrument: a polyphonic section with two VCOs, alongside dedicated String and Brass sections. The polyphonic synthesizer section allows for eight-note polyphony with dual oscillators. The String section offers an ensemble effect and simple attack/release envelope controls, whereas the Brass section features an independent filter and a dedicated ADSR envelope. These sections can be assigned to two different regions of the keyboard independently, and the Trident also offers a flanger effect along with a joystick for pitch bending and modulation. In 1982, the enhanced MkII version was introduced, offering additional memory, improved stability, and an extra ADSR envelope.'

Enjoy the music !

And the Moog Sonic Six via this listing

"Beautiful 50 year old Moog that can do things no other Moog can do. It's the only Duophonic Moog! You can set one osc as low note and one to high note for duophonic playing, set it as a mono synth, or even change the scaling of the high osc for microtonal playing. This Moog has the same oscillators and filter as the Minimoog Model D but instead of the Mini's third osc that doubles as it's only lfo, the S6 has TWO dedicated LFOs that can have separate wave shapes and rates and can be modulated by the eg! Modulation craziness. This Moog also has TWO amps! One signal goes through the filter, as usual, but there is a second amp that bipasses the filter. This means you can have a high resonance sweeping filter sound going (which kills all low end on every Moog) but you can beef it back up with the dry out amp. I've had most Moogs and think this is by far the best and most powerful Moog. I passed on a Minimoog for only 3k years ago and sold my Multimoog when I got my first S6. Everything works. Tuning and scaling was just adjusted and it's working great. I barely play it and have some studio changes in mind so it's on the chopping block. Sold as-is. No returns and I am not responsible for any guts getting shaken during shipping. It's 50 years old and it's in excellent shape for that age. Tuning and calibration info can be found online if you need it after shipping. Also considering selling the Polymoog 203a seen in the photos which is also fully functional and includes the rare Polypedals. A little demo video of the two can be seen in the link. The S6 tune drift in the video is actually a slow LFO and not just drifting. Also the video was done before I tweaked the scaling pots inside."

The KORG PS-3300 Returns!

video upload by Alex Ball

"A look at the reissue of the mysterious Korg PS-3300, first released in 1977, along with some history about it and footage of its creator, Fumio Mieda.

Huge thanks to Korg for letting me snaffle their prototype to make this video and for letting use some of their interview footage.

NOTE - Korg have asked that I make it clear that this unit is their working prototype and that the release date and price of production units is still to be finalised at the time of uploading and that they will announce that officially themselves in due course. Thanks for your understanding.

"It is in excellent condition! Almost like new! The headset volume button sputters when manipulated, but not afterward. The synth sounds serious and particularly good for soaring, phat string machine sounds. It has a MIDI connector. Enthusiast machine for sure!"

"Extremely rare machine (around 25 working units known in the world today)

FEATURES:

An ultra-rare instrument from the Italian Farfisa company from 1978 – the Polychrome. It’s a combo synth/strings/organ/vocal, and percussive instrument, that is not like anything coming out of USA or Japan at that time (Korg Trident/Arp Quadra etc). There are believed to be only a couple of hundred ever made, so certainly rare.

Fully polyphonic using octave-divider technology, and features an inbuilt analogue Phaser and Ensemble for effects. Particular fame was the chorus section, which many comment as being the most beautiful sounding of all analog synths from these era and reason enough to want to own one.

Another great feature of the keyboard is what Farfisa call the “Touch Brilliance” operation. This provides 3 aftertouch settings to control the Chorus Section and all the tone colours for; Electric Guitar, Brass, Reed and Strings. It’s a nice ‘Touch’ so to speak and offers a level of playable control that really makes this instrument sing."

INTRODUCING THE CRUMAR COMPOSER - COMPILATION VIDEO

video upload by Vintage Audio Institute Italia

"Here we go - this is the first of a series of videos I started a few year ago - and I thought I'd add some songs to it throughout - damn this thing sounds nice - the elusive Crumar Composer.

4 section poly/ mono / organ / string machine beast - consider it an Italian Korg Trident of sorts.

Laughably behind the times upon its short production run of 400 back in 1982-83 - instead all the sounds generated by this guy are straight from the 1970’s.

Despite each section being quite limited in modulation possibilities it's still quite versatile instrument with some unique features such as the breath control, the mono and poly section sharing the filter, and the organ section with percussion tabs and sustain.

There's more info in the video - enjoy!"
