WMD TRSHMSTR with drums and bass

Published on Feb 17, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"Destroying modular drums with the WMD TRSHMSTR and then using it on a bass sound. The drums are sequenced by the Noise Engineering Numeric Repetitor. Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter, Vermona Twincussion and Audio Damage Neuron make the drum sounds.

TRSHMSTR is a collaborative effort between WMD and electro-dance heavyweights MSTRKRFT. TRSHMSTR features an aggressive combination of band-pass filtering (FLTR) and distortion (DRV). The FLTR and DRV sections can be used independently or together to produce a wide variety of tone-shaping, from subtle distress to full-on acid destruction. The INs and OUTs of the FLTR and DRV sections are cross-normalled, so you can run your signal through FLTR and into DRV or vice-versa with no extra patching.

An Interview with Dorit Chrysler on Why You Should Open Your Mind to the Theremin

You can find the interview here.

"My mission is to get more people excited about the theremin.” These are the words of Dorit Chrysler, composer, musician, and one of the theremin’s biggest champions. She founded Kid Cool Theremin School, where she teaches theremin classes to adults and children. Now she's begun a one-year residency at the Gaite Lyrique Museum in France that includes performances, lectures, and intensive long-term theremin classes co-taught with French thereminist Thomas Suire. This residency is part of a larger effort to open the hearts and minds of the greater public to the magic of the theremin. 'The theremin still needs to be established more in the pantheon of accepted music instruments,' Dorit explains. 'It’s just such a different, unusual interface, and it’s difficult to play, so it’s underestimated always.'"

Synthtech E370 Quad Morphing VCO on Kickstarter

Synthesis Technology is seeking funding for their E370 Quad Morphing VCO on Kickstarter.

"Feb. 17, 2017

Synthesis Technology launches their first Kickstarter program today, the E370 Quad Morphing VCO. A 54HP wide Euro module, the E370 uses improved algorithms from the E340 Cloud Generator, the E350 Morphing Terrarium and the E330 Multi-Mode VCO for 96Khz, 16-bit sound. The microSD card allows users to load in their own wavetables and store presets. Shipping in October, the E370 is a skiff-friendly, highly user-programmable oscillator bank. Visit the campaign page for videos, audio files and full specifications."

"The E370 Quad Morphing VCO is a Eurorack-compatible module containing 4 independent digital voltage-controlled oscillators.

The E370 Quad Morphing VCO is a DSP-based, quad oscillator Eurorack module from Synthesis Technology. Using improved algorithms from the E350 Morphing Terrarium, the E340 Cloud Generator and the new E330 Multi-Mode VCO, the E370 is the most technically advanced Euro oscillator available. The four VCOs can be individually controlled, used in a set of two pairs, or ganged in “Unison”. A full-color TFT display is used in a ‘shallow depth’ menu system and can show each VCO’s output in real-time (oscilloscope mode). A micro-SD card slot allows users to load in their own custom wavetables and to save & load presets into the E370.

The E370 is 54HP wide and has a depth behind the panel of 48mm (1.89in). It uses a 16-pin shrouded header (standard Euro power, the cable is included) and the target power consumption is +12V @155ma and -12V @40ma. The final power will be available once the project is funded and the module is running the code and the TFT backlight current is determined. About 35% of the current off +12V is determined by the setting of TFT brightness."
