Synths Demo
YouTube via oxygene65
"Quick improvised demonstration of various synths in action. As usual I've gone for a Tangerine Dream / Film Soundtrack type of feel. This time, for better sound quality, I've recorded the audio thru the desk into wavelab, and tried to sync up this audio track with the video. It does go slightly out of sync. The equipment used were a Yamaha AN1x, Roland JP8000, Korg MS2000, Elka Synthex, Yamaha SY55, Roland XV5080 and Roland JV1080."
acid jam - machinedrum + mpc4000 + alpha juno + futureretro
YouTube via radambe
"4am acid synthesis jam
finally got a few things hooked up nicely.
gear used = elektron machinedrum sps-1 (non-UW) Mk2, FutureRetro Revolution on the 303 bassline, roland mks-50 alpha juno rack, waldorf microwave2, akai mpc4000 for sequencing the mks and waldorf. When i turn to my left I'm leaning over to grab the sliders and knobs on a novation remote zero sl which is being used to control the mks-50. It was fairly easy to get that thing programmed for sysex control of the mks. The only thing I don't like is the steppyness of the filter sweep(s) which is caused by the lack of midi resolution. This is easily confirmable when you route the mks's lfo to sweep the filter and it's perfectly smooth. I'm wishing the mks was easily moddable with some cv inputs. Most people seem to not think very much of the alpha junos. I feel quite the opposite. The mks speaks to me."

Bucket! (composed by Jimmy Smith) - Nord C1
YouTube via rounder2u
"Here is my version of Jimmy Smith's 'Bucket'.
I've tried to stay close to the original recording.
The organ is a Clavia Nord C1 - a Hammond B-3 clonewheel organ.
---
Nord C1 Registrations and Settings:
Upper 88 8000 000. Chorus C3. Perc on, soft, fast, third.
Lower 88 8000 000, not used.
Bass lower man. 80.
Leslie in stop position.
Equalizer not used.
Overdrive not used.
Reverb hall, soft, 35-40%.
Tonewheel mode Vintage 2 (high level of tonewheel crosstalk and cable leakage artefacts).
The sound is recorded line out from the organ. No additional effects, amplifiers or speakers are used.
---
Jimmy Smith's original recording of 'Bucket' was made 1963.
---
I have also uploaded the original recording from 1963 for anyone interested. To find it, just search for 'Jimmy Smith Bucket', or click 'More from: Rounder2u' at the right side of the screen."
TB-303 Reference in Ghost in the Shell

"Here's a screenshot from an episode of Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex (the anime series, no the movie) with a nod to the legendary TB-303!!!
I find it really cool! There's probaby a synth fan like us on the series production ;D
More info."
Note: also see Iron Man. I created a comics label for these. Yes Ghost in the Shell is manga and anime, but I'm not going to make people click on different labels for these. If anyone remembers any prior posts I put up or other examples, feel free to comment below or send them in.

"This was my first real foray into the world of my monome 40h kit. I'm using press cafe and reason for the synth. Damn those LEDs are bright."
