The Week-End Synth
via Davide: "The pictures tell the little story about a little synth and a little girl. The synth is the wonderful Ray Wilson's (Music From Outer Space) WSG. It's a perfect beginner's project if you are going to use his PCB. I chose the hard way (I'm not a beginner anymore, anyway) and opted for a perforated board and made all the connections by hand. To my surprise, at the flick of the switch everything worked as expected and I felt brave enough to scare the cat with the bleeps and dee-doo-dee-doo coming out the little synth. It's very 'knobby' and it's fun not to have labels! The knobs were a sale on Mouser, but they are much larger than I expected!I asked Beatrice, my daughter, to fix the logo for the synth, and when I returned home tonight, I found a stunning MFOS logo!!! Thank to Beatrice for her art, thanks to my wife for her patience, and thank to Ray Wilson for his beautiful toys and sharing. Made In Italy, With Love.
Schedule:Saturday Morning: Drilling Da Holz
Saturday Afternoon: Mounting the components
Sunday Morning: cabling panel wires, switch on and PLAY!!!!!!
Regards,
Davide
P.S.
I saw a lot of people here and there, and on the tube, presenting a WSG [Weird Sound Generator] WITHOUT saying that it's the work of Ray Wilson, and trying to impress people with their design skills... The Weird Sound Generator is a beautiful work of Music From Outer Space, give credits to Ray for this."
Particle for the Waldorf Blofeld
"Punkwell Particle is a design for a mini keyboard and programming dock for use with the Waldorf Blofeld.Originally designed as a miniture keyboard for use with laptops ( thanks to korg again for putting one into production hoho :) ) this design has been expanded specifically to the size of the blofeld, but can also be pulled out to use on any midi keyboard or rack.
Not entirely designed for performance use, the particle is ideally suited to programming sounds where you just want a few keys and pitch/modulations to test but without having to fire up a computer or hook up a larger keyboard, and would equally be useful to those programming sequencers non real time. The keys will also double up as an alphabetic keypad to help naming patches faster."
Hohner Pianet T
"Is it a guitarists keyboard or a keyboardists guitar?
Guitarists love it because it plugs into your pedals and effects and keeps your own guitarsound and applies it to the keyboard.
Keyboardists love it because by plugging it into guitarpedals and amp models and overdrives and sustains, you get a guitarsound with the playability of a keyboard.
Each key on the PianetT has an electromagnetic pickup that picks up the vibration that each key creates when you press it, and sends this to the output, similar to how a guitar creates sound when the pickup picks up the strings vibratation.
And it looks just like a guitarcase, until you open up the front lid and reveal the beatiful keys. It also works really well for classic Rhodes and Wurlitzer sounds, and is a great alternative to the Yamaha CP 70 and CP 80 (popularized by Keane) due to it's lightness and portability.
This beautiful suitcase piano comes as a rare complete set, original stand+bag & sheetholder included, and has been upgraded with with new silicon hammers.
Real acoustic/electro-acoustic piano action with audio output, in portable design. No power needed. Plug it in to your amp, your favorite guitar pedal or straight into your DAW, fold it up & take it away.

An even simpler theme; reprise
YouTube via attorks
"I had to trim the video back to 10 minutes because of the YouTube upload limit. If you want to see or download the whole original video of 14 minutes with a better audio quality, see or download the video in the video section of my website.
This is basically the same setup as for the video 'An even simpler theme' added on november the 1st but the music is more subtle. But somehow I can not reach the subtleness of the great masters in Electronic Music (e.g. Redshift, Free System Projekt or von Haulshoven). Still I hope you enjoy this. The Kawai 100F is responsible for the Ring Modulated background noise. Three different sequences, an 8 step sequence on the Synthesizers.com, a 12 and later 16 step sequence from a MFM VCO through the CGS Steiner filter only using the Band Pass input and a 1 and later 4 step sequence from a MFM VCO through an Ian Fritz 5Pulser through an Oakley Equinoxe Phaser. Again just 3 minor chords (Cm, Bbm and Fm) with chord memory on the AKAI AX80 and an improvised solo on the Nord Lead 1; a truly 2 finger system."
