1971 ARP Soloist Synthesizer - White

1971 ARP Soloist short demonstration by LarsWigren

via this auction

"This synth came from the estate of Karl Hardman, star and producer of the classic horror film Night of The Living Dead. You can look him up on Wikipedia. I think the story is he put together a recording studio with the money he made from the movie, of which this 1971 ARP Soloist was a part. Cool story." video below, previously posted here

Sequencing with the A-143-1

Sequencing with the A-143-1 from Peter Speer on Vimeo.

"The 143-1 has been nothing but fun since it got here. I've spent the last hour using it as a sequencer of sorts for a self-oscillating Frostwave filter. Instant goth hits!

In this patch, the Plan B Elf LFO's square out is clocking a Doepfer A-160 Clock Divider:

The /2 output is gating the first channel on the A-143-1.
The /4 output is gating the second
The /8 output is gating the third
The /16 output is gating the fourth

The Envelope from the 143-1's first channel is controlling the Low Pass Resonance on a Frostwave Resonator.

The Envelope from the third channel is controlling the High Pass Frequency on the Resonator

The Envelope from the fourth channel is controlling the Low Pass Frequency on the Resonator

The Mix output from the 143-1 is sending CV to a 132-3.

The Resonator is set to self-oscillate, and its Output is sent to the 132-3's Input.

The Opus 3 and the Rogue are a little out of tune, but otherwise dry."

Four synth drone

Four synth drone from Peter Speer on Vimeo.

"4 synths, droning away

1. a Moog Rogue (through a Frostwave Resonator)
2. the triangle output of a Plan B Elf LFO (the bass tone)
3. a Korg Super Section (though a Frostwave Blue Ringer)
4. a Moog Opus 3

The A-143-1's first channel (in LFO mode) is acting as a clock source for the A-160 and A-161, which are triggering channels two - four.

The outputs of the 143-1 and the 160/161 pair are modulating both of the Frostwave pedals, as well as triggering an A-140, which is opening the channel on the A-132-3 which the Rogue is running through.

First night with the PLL

First night with the PLL from Peter Speer on Vimeo.
"Goofing around with the Doepfer A-196 Phase Locked Loop module a few hours after it arrived.

Patch:
--Voice of Saturn Sequencer CV Out to Freq CV on Plan B ELF LFO
--ELF LFO Square Out to Trig In on Doepfer A-160 Clock Divider.
--ELF LFO Triangle Out to In 2 on PLL
--/64 Out on A-160 is triggering the first channel on the A-143-1 Complex Envelope Generator (all channels set to AD mode)
--Mix Out on A-143-1 to Gate In on A-140 ADSR
--/32 Out on A-160 is retriggering the A-140
--Output from A-140 sent to CV In on A-132-3
--Comparator Out on A-196 to Input on 132-3
--Output from A-132-3 to computer

Diabolical Acid

YouTube via bigcitymusic
"Here's a little acid trip courtesy of Diabolical Devices. Diabolical modded this vintage TR-606 drum machine. It has bass drum pitch, decay, and envelope. The snare drum has pitch, decay and high pass filter controls. There are also controls for a crash cymbal band-pass filter and a system noise level (think noisy reverb).

The Diabolical built Xoxbox, an awesome TB-303 clone, has mods for bass boost, resonance boost, and cross-modulation. This is a pretty evil little setup!"
