Elektron Ninja Sid Station

via this auction
"The Ninja has extra memory and patches. It is the flagship model of the Sid Station line and they added some extras, like the BLUE LED's. They are great looking turquoise blue LED's. There are 99 patches...more than the standard Sid Station, and some custom patches as well... This synthesizer is a bit noisy. This is an accepted fact about this line of synths. The pros use compressors and filters to reduce noise while recording and on stage."

Update via ML in the comments: "The silver SIDStation also has 99 patches... the only thing that differes them are the color. The Ninja patches are available for download at Electrons site."

"Also what's cool is the sample/hold keyboard ("string" on panel) trigger applied to filter... Think Depeche Mode- Enjoy the Silence bass sequence."

"This clip is from a 2003 show which was the first show we did with the restored PAIA modular. For this show we used only analogue equipment: the sequencing was done with PAIA step sequencers only, the drums are a Kord Rhythm 55 through an analogue filter and paul plays the Roland GR700. This clip includes some solos on the minimoog and GR700. http://www.musicofsoftware.com"

4MS TRIWAVE PICOGENERATOR

via this auction

" * Two tone generators (VCO's), each with:
o Pitch: center frequency from rumbling low to hissing high
o Tone: select harsh square-wave or smooth triangle-wave
* Three LFO's (low frequency oscillators), each with:
o Speed: rate of change of each pitch channel
o Depths (2 knobs per LFO): Amount of pitch modulation on each VCO
* Mix: blend between tone channels
* Volume: output level
* Waveshaper: (3 knobs) blend each LFO from square to triangle
* Symmetry: blend each LFO from sawtooth ramp-up to triangle to sawtooth ramp-down, or variable duty-cycle rectangle wave, a knob per LFO
* Ring mod: adds an input jack and sensitivity control for ring modulation effect
* Dual cross modulation: (2 knobs) frequency modulate each channel with the other
* Waveshaper: blend each LFO from square to triangle, a knob per LFO
* Symmetry: blend each LFO from sawtooth ramp-up to triangle to sawtooth ramp-down, or variable duty-cycle rectangle wave, a knob per LFO
* Ring mod: adds an input jack and sensitivity control for ring modulation effect
* Aux volume: uses ring mod input jack for blending clean signal over the triwave
* Dual cross modulation: frequency modulate each channel with the other, a switch per VCO
* Range switches: select full pitch range or high range only, a switch per VCO
* Drum triggers: adds a trigger input jack and sensitivity knob per VCO, for triggering each channel with an external source
* Expression pedal jacks (pitch): control pitch of each channel with an expression pedal (x2)
* Photocells: control pitch of each channel with a theremin-like photo-eye (x2, one for each tone generator)
* Bypass switch: flip or stomp switch for true-bypassing
* LFO reset button: tap button to reset each LFO
* Expression pedal jacks (LFO speeds): control speed of each LFO with an expression pedal
* Fine Tune pitch: Micro-adjust the pitch of each channel
* Stereo output: pan and volume controls for each tone channel (two output jacks)

There are two VU meters that move and throb with the speed of sound. The unit itself is 15” by 15” with a sloped front. On the front panel there are 30 knobs, 9 switches and 3 buttons. Two chrome handles on the sides for lifting and moving, plus add to the overall look of the thing. A beast of a machine, this is perfect for the sound experimenter or noise making musician!"

COMMODORE 64 SMURFEN GAME WITH MICHAEL JACKSON'S BILLIE JEAN SID CHIP TUNE

"I downloaded this game off of a BBS in the 80s and must have quickly forgotten about it. I was going through my old disks and came across it and .. WOW! What a hard game!
The title should be HOW TO LOSE AT SMURFEN"

Youth (cover) (original by Anthony Rother)

YouTube via grauoliv
"Just fooling around with the track Youth by Electro-Artist Anthony Rother from his Super Space Model album. Drums are from the Novation Drumstation, bass from Doepfer A-100, lfo sound from the virus and lead from Moog LP. Sequencing with Manikin Schrittmacher and MAM SQ 16. The TV was on (behind the camera), that's the kind of flashlights you see.

Of course, this can't compare to the original. So you don't need to tell me that AR has done it way better! ;-)"
