Close Encounter at Devil's Tower with a synth!
YouTube via hamsterdunce. Anyone ID the synth?
"More music at umop.com!
After almost 30 years of fantasizing, I finally got to talk to aliens at Devil's Tower in Wyoming. This re-enactment of the famous scene with an ARP 2500 takes place right in front of the tower. The keyboard & special effects aren't *quite* as good, and the camera operator couldn't quite contain her laughter, but it was fun anyway."
MAM SQ16, SCI TOM, DSI Evolver, Frostwave Funkaduck and Moogerfooger
"that SQ16 is a great interactive live performance machine but it's a real bear to program - 13 drum tracks, three synth bass tracks - the other shot is with a TOM going into a Frostwave Funk-a-Duck and into a Moog delay - pretty spacey combination and the Evo desktop rounds out the bill ....I'm really thinking of adding my MAM Warp 9 filter because one of the sq16 tracks could be used to fire the filter envelopes"

mc-202 tutorial #1 programming and syncing to tape
video upload by johnisfaster
"This is the first of probably 3 tutorials I'm planning on doing.
This tutorial covers:
1) crash course in programming a pattern
2) how to sync the mc-202 to ableton without a din sync converter
upcoming video's will include:
1)a bit deeper into programming a pattern
2)how to realtime record a pattern
3)how to save and load patterns via "tape"
4)how to set the 202's accent mode to FA so that you have filter accents in gate mode
You can download the Pilot and Sync tones used in this video here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/wiejmjm... pilot and sync Project.zip
apologies for the middle of the video where it just stairs at the monitor for a bit, I was thinking more about talking that what I was pointing at."
Mc-202 tutorial #2: portamento, accents and accent mode
"Terribly sorry about how dark it is, I did this late at night so there was no light coming in the windows and I'm apparently standing in the light coming from behind me. But if you listen to what I'm saying and watch the parts you can actually see you should be on your way.
This video will take you through the portamento, accent and 'hiden' accent mode.
next video will go through:
1) saving and loading a pattern from tape"
Future Music Synth Girls
Waldorf Microwave XT/XTk factory demo
YouTube via MisterArray
"This is a recording of the internal factory demo which came with the Waldorf XT and XTk line of synthesizers." You can find the ful size image in the vid here.
via Mr. Array:
"It's some promo image from Future Music Magazine from way back in the day when the Waldorf XTk was still in production. There were two other versions of this as well, one which depicted a black haired girl holding a Yahama CS6x, and another with a girl holding a Novation SuperNova. The CS6x image was available online at one point, but I've never personally seen the SuperNova version. Either way, I can't find either of the latter two online at this point :( Maybe some of your readers have these images?" Anyone?
Update via Mr. Array: "I found a small thumbnail of the Yamaha version"

"The sounds and rhythms can be compared with those of the organ or the keyboard mix, resulting in entirely new and interesting sound combinations leads. The Stage box shows some wear"
I'm guessing this is more of a preset machine. If anyone knows it's editing capabilities as far as synthesis goes, feel free to comment. Cool control panel.
