Circuit Snore.mov
YouTube via davidryle | June 30, 2010
"An idea to use noise generator to two sample & hold modules. Each S&H is sent to an oscillator and one osc is outputting a sawtooth waveform and the other osc is outputting a ramp waveform. These two are mixed and sent to the Linear Frequency input of a third oscillator. The patch is a simple sheperd tone generator. The variety comes from the random voltages from the noise and S&H modules. The third source of pitch control is the sequencers. One sequencer is sending pitch voltage to the third oscillator. The other sequencer is controlling LFO's, pulse width and panning modules.
The effect reminded me of snoring. A sort of slow breathing with unexpected sound effects."

Arp 2600 Semi-Modular Synthesizer
"This is a fully functioning early grey faced Tonus logo Arp 2600 v2.0 and companion 3604p keyboard with matching serial numbers. Please refer to the cms nexus for arp identification info, but this was probably manufactured in '72. It has the short panel height of 14.5" and silkscreen labels on the trim pots. The oscillators are 4027's and the filter is, of course, a 4012. All of the modules are original. I am the second owner of this machine. It has been well cared for and is in excellent condition. The speakers were replaced about 3 years ago with proper replacements from synthfool.com as well as the handle on the 3604p."

DIY Boss PC-2 / Amdek PCK100 Percussion Synth
YouTube via hotchk155 | June 30, 2010
"see http://hotchk155.blogspot.com/2010/06... for more info
I wanted to build one of these bloopy analog percussion synths based on the schematic and a photo of the Amdek PCB.. and I think I just about succeeded with this DIY attempt.
I used to own a PC-2 so I can tell a couple of things about this one aren't quite right, like the sweep range. I needed to improvise with a BA6110 IC instead of the ultra rare BA662A and find an alternative to the centre-tapped sweep pot, but most components are true to the Amdek kit. See the link above for more info and the PCB template for etching.
Apologies for sound synch issues on the clip"
