circuit bent alesis qsr synthesizer by spunkytoofers

via this auction
"the following audio is simple trigger from a toy midi keyboard (no velocity, midi controllers, etc) for triggering some of the presets on the qsr. the audio was recorded direct from outputs with no signal processing used at all. these are just snippets tied together. check out the other sound files at the end of the auction as well as a video. the demos at the end show that the qsr can be played with stability without any sampling, editing, signal processing, etc. to form musical statements and performances in realtime."

-24 point patchbay effects oscillator waveforms (glitches, cutups, extreme sound reconfigurations, extreme aliasing, sample rate effects, etc)

-9 point patchbay located on 2 rotary knobs indicated in copper chrome

-9 point patchbay effects FX section. delay cutups and glitches, extreme feedbacks, etc)

-each switch activates a corresponding colored leds to indicate which knobs are connected.

-one sample rate knob indicated in chrome and red jewel. controlled by getlofi 1799 precision oscillator for over 2 and half octaves controls of sample rate

-one sample rate switch selects between original clock and precision oscillator control

-indicator lights for midi controlled relays activity

-one overall power led indicator in blue behind vintage milk white glass lens

-internal battery removed and replaced with a user servicable battery clip and a fresh battery

-bend diagram and pdf manual forwarded to winning buyer

in my opinion the qsr is the most expressive circuit bent instrument ever. not only because of the deep modulation matrix involved but because it has the smoothest sample loop points and triggering for legato playing. you'd be very hard pressed to find another synth that does circuit bent solo leads as well as this. it also works very well in multitimbral mixes. in addition it has one of the fastest midi response rates available in synths of today and yesteryears.

the qsr is something i make very rarely so if you want this be sure to bid. the qsr is in perfect operating condition with the production sticker stating that this was one of the very last few leaving the factory. that ensures that you are getting the newest qsr possible.

the following audio is played in realtime with no processing by an akai ewi. two notes at a time can be triggered from the wind controller"

This Second Sleep - Chimera Noyo Miniature

YouTube via arthurpainter | September 16, 2010

A brief improv using my Chimera bC16 as the primary sound source. There's a bit of Sequential Circuits Pro rumble in the beginning. A dose of delay was also added to the mix."

A short haunting melody.AVI

YouTube via dolphinicus | September 16, 2010

"This is a short 3 minute video with not much more excitement within it rather than blinking LEDs. I loved the haunting sounding melody though from a single voltage controlled oscillator, going into a Voltage Controlled Amplifer whose amplitude were being controlled by a slowly rising Attack and slowly falling Release.
A little bit into it, I bring in a simple single VCO 'bassline' of sorts, that's being played by my 4094 based Eighth BITchen Deathlehem Sequencer. I hope you enjoy.
Ahhh yes - and both of the voices are going through a digital reverb effect for extra 'floor' beneath everything."

A BETTER Liquid HiHat 101010-AlmostCompleted-Sept1510.AVI

dolphinicus | September 15, 2010

"Now - please do pardon my extreme excitement but I HAD to make this NEW video for the Deathlehem Liquid HiHat 101010, almost immediately.
Having both of it's voices running through separate VCAs which are each controlled by their own Attack Decay envelope generators - I heard sounds that I had never imagined POSSIBLE from this thing! :O
Completely patchable in any way that you wish, the 6 oscillators and 4 of the 8 x XOR Gates are beyond the imagination's capabilities in noise sounds that can be made.
More coming, in the future, from my Deathlehem 101010 Noise Machine. :)

Whilst I think of it: all info. on this new design can be read at the forum at:

korg ds-10 track 55

korgds10 | September 16, 2010

"This is a track I, Ugo Capeto, made with the Nintendo Korg DS-10 (I guess these days you have to mention it's the "original" DS-10). I've tried to use all 6 channels (2 synth + 4 drums) for synth voices. Can't say I miss the usual DS10 drums. For more pocket synth action, check http://korgds-10.blogspot.com"

DS-10 Construction

YouTube via LPChip | September 16, 2010

"This can very well be my best Korg DS-10 song. One of the things that I have in this song that I haven't had before is an insane good quality. The bass is really deep and the high parts are very crisp too. I build a very chill setting here, almost hiphop like. And if you think it can't be better, a very nice lead makes you think again.

I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do listening and making it.

If you want the mp3 version for off-line listening, feel free to get it here:

Enjoy! :) Comments and rating this one is always appreciated, even if its just an "awesome" :)"
