"The Dub~Step~Arcade console is an analogue square wave synthesiser based around two popular audio circuit’s, Firstly the dub-siren which is simply a pitch that rises and falls in relation to the speed and wave-shape of an LFO (low frequency oscillator), and secondly the stepped tone generator by Forrest Mims (Known as the Atari punk console) hence the name Dub Step Arcade!"

"1980s vintage Drumfire DF500 analog drum synthesizer... This unit was made in Japan and operates on 117V power, it has an attached 3-prong plug.
There are 5 identical channels, each has the following:
---1/4" trigger input with a sensitivity knob that can accommodate various trig voltages
---oscillator decay
---noise decay
---sweep
---pitch
---click on/off
---osc/noise balance
---volume
---pan (for stereo out)
---1/4" channel audio output
Additionally, there is a stereo output with individual L/R volume pots, a headphone output and a footswitch input. I'm not sure what the footswitch is supposed to do since there is no sequencer to stop/start but everything else is tested and working well."

BugNews - September -> WOM events and Auctions

"Hi All,
Last time I wrote I was just beginning the move to new premises. It has been a big shift, but things really are coming together now and I'm finally getting back to some regular work. I'm quite aware that there is still not much 'available' (whether standalone devices or modular) at the moment, but I'm trying to get things properly geared up for some new bits before the end of the year. I've also got a few WOM events coming up and given the number of requests I've had for kits, I'll certainly be making some more available - more below..
So here are a few bits of news:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
*** 1 - WOM events & kits ***
In October I have two days at STEIM in Amsterdam holding classes to build the Workshop Oscillator Machine kits.
The dates are Monday 11th October and Tuesday 12th October, each day between 10am & 4pm and costing 85euro per kit,
Spaces are already filling up (15 per day), so if you're interested do book soon via their website.
There will also be a small show/talk on the Tuesday evening after the workshop.
There will finally be a local Bristol WOM event in November at the Arnolfini.
This one is on Saturday 6th November between 11am and 5pm and costs £50 to attend.
Again this is limited to 15 places, so please book well in advance via the Arnolfini Booking Office.
Since I last did any WOM events I've had a constant trickle of requests to make more WOM kits available. Finally I'm pulling my finger out and will soon be offering some WOM-PRO kits - the same as the regular events kits but with improved potentiometers (dials) like on the Board/Postcard Weevils. The first lot of these should be ready in a month or so, probably around the time of the STEIM events. Of course, I'll do a mailout when these kits are going to be available.
WOM infos
*** 2 - Auctions ***
Two items of note coming up in the next couple of days:::
i) After the Ebay auctions of last month, I've got one more item - a really nice 1Frame BugBrand Modular setup with Joystick Controller!
Lots of info about it is included in the listing - [link - and captured in this post]
The auction finishes on Thursday 23rd at about 4.40pm (UK time)
ii) Then on Saturday 25th there is the wonderful & worthy 'Great Art Jumble' just down the road at Bristol's Cube Cinema. This is a fund-raiser for the Haiti Kid's Kino Project.
You can read more about it on their blog: http://nanoplex.cubecinema.com/blog/ and there's a whole load of people donating items for the auction. I've dug out an old Weevil Frame (from 2005) so do pop along if you're interested - the event takes place from Midday to 5pm and entry is free!
*** 3 - the New Place***
If you're interested, you can see some development pics on this MuffWiggler thread: http://muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21012

So, in essence --> more news next month!
Best wishes & cheers,
Tom"
Farewell to Roland D2 and Metasonix TM-1
YouTube via SaintJimbobOTA | September 11, 2010
"I'm selling off my collection of music equipment/ noise makers. Here's a duet of the Roland D2 Groovebox, complete with early, Kaosss-pad-eque filter pad, and the Metasonix TM-1 Waveshaper. The Metasonix box is a tube-driven ring mod/distortion with several input options, and wide varieties of noise." via brian c
via this auction
"The TM-1 is an incredible distortion device, like waterboarding for audio. In addition to the audio input, there is an input for a ring modulation carrier, and control voltage inputs for beam and VCA functions. Great for integration into a modular synthesizer setup , noise band, or techno/industrial rig."
