CASIO VZ-1 synthesizer

via this auction
"This is a very good digital synth, great for deep basses and experimental sounds etc. It has eight modules (four pairs or lines) which are similar to the operators found on Yamaha's DX synths. Each module can act as a carrier or modulator, so that you could have up to eight carriers, or as few as one carrier being modulated by seven modulators (or as many/few as required). The modules have flexible routing, so that the first pair can modulate the second pair and so on. The modules can be ring-modded, phase-modded, or ouput 'straight'. Each module can be edited independently and each has its own on/off button and indicator lamp. The VZ-1 can do the traditional (four stage) ADSR envelope, but is more versatile, giving the user from one to eight-stage envelopes. It has a multi-timbral mode with eight patches on different midi channels, and a combination mode with up to four patches combined into one. The modules (or oscillators) can be from a choice of eight waveforms: sine, sawtooth one to five, noise one, and noise two. Keyboard action is excellent."
