Die Mitglieder des DigiEnsemble Berlin sind professionelle Musikerinnen und Musiker, die mit iPhone, iPod-Touch und iPad an der Universität der Künste Berlin gemeinsam Musik machen. Ziel ist es im gemeinsamen Musizieren auszuprobieren, ob und wie mit den kleinen Geräten musiziert werden kann.

Dabei entstehen Musikstücke aus den unterschiedlichsten Stilrichtungen zwischen „klassischem" Streichorchester bis hin zum tanzbaren R'n'B-Act. Wir fanden, dass Begriffe wie Orchester oder Band für diese musikalische Bandbreite nicht passen und bezeichnen unsere Formation daher als Ensemble. Am wichtigsten ist uns, dass die Musik auf den Hosentaschen-Instrumenten interessant klingt und musikalisch ist."

The members of the Berlin DigiEnsemble are professional musicians, with iPhone, iPod Touch and make iPad at the University of the Arts music together. Goal is to test it in the music together, whether and how making music can be with the small devices.

This music created from a variety of styles between "classic" string orchestra up to the danceable R & B Act. We found that do not fit terms such as orchestra or band for the musical spectrum and describe our formation, therefore, as an ensemble. "My first real attempt to jam along with NanoStudio, like it was done in the awesome demo movie. I first tried nanostudio on my eeePC with touchscreen, but the touchscreen capabilities aren't on the pc version which basically makes it not work. Ticking the screen there isn't registered until I actually make a move gesture. So instead, I hooked up my midi keyboard and used the mouse to guide me through making it. First I played a bit along recording drums, added basses and then tweaked the sounds until I had sounds that actually work good together and I had an idea of what kind of song to make. Then I started the screen recorder and did a complete start-to-end recording. As a result, you might hear one note thats out of place. Sorry!!!"
