MacBeth Mk1 Modular Majestic 12 Snapshot!

MacBeth Mk1 Modular Majestic 12 Snapshot! from Ken MacBeth on Vimeo.

"Here is a quick video of the MacBeth Mk1 'Majestic 12' System in operation. It's basically four Analogue Syntrhesizers in one! Each synth features 3 x VCOs/1 x Mixer/1 x 24dB/Octave Transistor Ladder Filter/1 x 12dB/Octave State Variable Filter and 2 x Dual Envelope Generators with built in output VCAs.
This was recorded directly into the Canon 60D that I use- and on edit- as scene fades into scene- the sounds overlap a bit.
The sequencer here is an ensoniq ASR-10- a fantastically easy sequencer to use. Also used is a four channel MIDI to CV converter- a Kenton Pro4.
It's a short vid- shot in HD, hence the size!
Hope you enjoy- Ken M"

iBand at the Frisco School of Music

YouTube Uploaded by TxMusicSchool on May 17, 2011

"The Frisco School of Music presents "iBand". This is an advanced class taught by Gabriel Bautista with all of the instruments being iPad Apps. All of the students are taking music lessons at the school and were able transfer those skills to the various iPad applications.

The video is a compilation of the three performances they gave for the Star Power concerts at the school. They chose three Beatles tunes as a tribute to Apple (computers and records), 'All My Lovin" and a "Hey Jude-Come Together" medley.

The iBand performers are: Allison Ponthier, 15, Lowery Freshman Center, Vocalive; Cal Simpson, 13, Evans Middle School, Guitar-Garage Band; Colin Climie, 15, Clark High School, iJ Bass HD; Idrissa Ndiaye, 15, Jasper High School, Piano-Garage Band; Montana Brock, 13, McKinney Christian Academy, Drums-Garage Band; and Gabriel Bautista, Instructor, Pocket Organ.

The Frisco School of Music teaches exceptional private and group music lessons for all ages and levels on all instruments, plus Rock School Band, Jazz School Band and summer camps. The School is located on Preston Road at Main Street.

Check it out at http://www.FriscoSchoolofMusic.com or call 214.436.4058."

Suzuki SX500 / Siel EX80

via Rozzer.net where you'll find additional details and an editor.

"Essentially the Suzuki SX500 is a rebadged Siel EX80 which in turn was a copy of the Korg EX800 [Poly-800].

Here’s what we know. There are two DCOs offering sawtooth and square waveforms (the square waveform can mix up to 4 octaves of square waves together). There is an analogue 24db Low Pass Filter (SSM Filter IC). Two amp envelopes (yes two!), filter envelope, two LFOs (hardwired to osc pitch and filter frequency), chorus effect and a basic record/playback sequencer."

Novation K Station

via this auction

"The K-Station is a whole new take on the original Bass Station Keyboard that put British synth makers Novation on the analog synth map! Essentially, the K-Station is an extremely well laid-out and superbly designed 2-octave keyboard version of their new A-Station rack module. It features 8 voices of analog modeled sounds with FM, 12-band vocoder, arpeggiator, reverb and delay effects, 400 user rewritable program memories, and more. Unlike the crowded interface and puny LCD display screen found on the A-Station, the K-Station has a beautiful layout with easy access to its knobs, sliders and buttons. And finally there's a large LCD display!

It has 25 knobs for real-time control, and all knobs transmit MIDI controller messages. The K-Station has three oscillators which provide sawtooth, triangle, sine, pulse width modulation and other waveforms. There's even a simple FM synth engine which can be dialed in for sharpening the sound. Oscillators may be set to Unison or Sync'd operation and a Noise source is also included in the waveform engine. There is a nice lowpass resonant filter with switchable 12 or 24dB/oct slopes and ADSR controls. A second ADSR envelope is available for the oscillators, as well as two LFOs with sample-and-hold and MIDI sync.

On-board effects include reverb and delay/chorus/flanger. Their send levels can be controlled by the Mod wheel which is a nice effect. A 12-band vocoder is also on-board for processing external mono sounds such as drum loops or vocals. The K-Station's pads sound great when vocoded with external sounds. External sounds can also be used as an oscillator, run through the filters, envelopes, etc. with much better results than were possible on the original Bass Stations. There's even a built-in Arpeggiator whose speed synchronization and sweep range can be stored with the program for instant recall. The K-Station is really an expressive, compact keyboard that's a hand-on joy to use and is just full of clean analog sounding synth bass, punchy leads, pads, filter sweeps and more! The K-Station is a great piece of kit for professionals and beginners alike!"
